Did you like Goofy's Kitchen? I'm trying to figure out if we want to spend the extra money to do a character breakfast. We will be with our three year old. Last year we did the dining plan at Disney World and did three character breakfasts. He loved them and it was a great way to see the characters without having to wait in the huge lines in the parks.

How's the breakfast food at Goofy's? How easy is it to get there from a Good Neighbor hotel?

We Love Goofy's Kitchen. It is so much fun for both girls and boys. We've seen Donald Duck, The Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Chip, Dale, Pluto, Minnie Mouse, Max and of coure Goofy himself. They do this really cute act where Goofy or one of the other characters is walking through the buffet area with a container of dishes and they pretend to slip and spill all these plastic pots and pans. Then they ask the kids to come up and make music and dance with them.

The food is crazy as you would expect from a Goofy meal. They have traditional breakfast but then they also have things like mini hot dogs and pizza. Pretty much a ton of food that you might see throughout the day. They also have great desserts.

From a good neighbor hotel all you have to do is walk through the Plaza and through DTD to get to the DL hotel. It is at the back of the hotel but it's fun to pass by the Neverland Pool and take a peek.

My dd6 loves princesses and we thought she would only want to go to the Princess meal but she actually prefers Goofy's because she said it's so funny. That is good for my ds because then he doesnt get to Princessed out!!princess:
We really enjoy it and think it's worth the extra money.

We love Goofy's and go there each trip. It has a variety of characters with good interaction. It is a loud character meal, so as long as you or your child aren't noise sensitive it shouldn't be an issue. We've done breakfast and dinner but prefer their dinner food over their breakfast. The Goofy's at Disneyland Hotel is at the end of downtown disney and is an easy walk.

How much does this breakfast run and where can I find info on it?

Hope this information helps! It comes from allearsnet.com, which is a wealth of information, especially for DW, but also has a DLR section. Goofy's Kitchen is wonderful and we go there on every DL vacation. I even spent my birthday there last month (and I'm over 40! :) )

I've been to Goofy's Kitchen twice and had great experiences both times! This trip, however, we're going to be looking into going to another character breakfast, just to try something new. I think it's totally worth the money... the food is good and the interaction is great!

We went there in Oct. 05, and didnt find it as great as most people. The interaction was not great. The food was ok, but the choices seemed a bit limited to me. Maybe it was because we went near the end of brunch before they take a break before dinner. We've enjoyed our time at Minnies at the plaza much more then goofy's.

Adult meal prices have gone up to $27.25. And childs is $14.80 (3yrs. - 9yrs.) Just so you know. The experience is worth it at Goofys. We have eaten there many times. We will be there on March 11 celebrating my son's 8th b-day. He had his 3rd b-day there as well. Breakfast and dinner are both very good there. It has gone up in price since we were there last Oct. But it is still worth it. Just think, you can get a ton of character pics right there, and that means more ride time in the parks.

Linda, we also went in Oct 05 and wasn't as inpressed as we usually where. I wonder if something was going on. We have always made a point of going there when we go and that was the first time we didn't have as good a time. The other times we have gone where wonderful. I am still debating if we are going to risk it and go when we are there in April. Can you tell me more about Minnies? We have only gone to the Plaza when it was Pooh and Friends. Minnies might be fun. Maybe we should try that instead :confused3

wehave had both lunch and dinner there and we love it, next month we will go to GK for dinner and lilo for breakfast. we love the GK chicken nuggets and the peanut butter and jelly pizza , wierd but yummy!

I have eaten there around 10 times and never had anything but a great experience. I have done all the character meals at Disneyland and all but one at WDW and its my favorite of any of them. But for breakfast, I also really enjoy Lilo and Stitch quite a bit too for breakfast (second favorite). So if those charcters are appealing I can give that a thumbs up. The only character meal I have not had the best of luck at is Minnie's, I've been there three times (plus another time when it was princess themed) and never had a very good meal, character interaction or service. But it is right in the parks so it completely wins for convenience factor. I think I am just unlucky there since many/most seem to enjoy it. Heck, my daughter is dying to eat there again so I'll probably be giving it another try! With character meals I always say go to the one that has the charcters you want to see since thats what its bascially about.

Its pretty much the same as it was when it was Pooh and friends. They still plate your hot foods for you when you go thru the buffet line. The foods are much more "breakfasty" then at Goofys. We saw a lot of characters when we went: Minnie, Pooh, Tigger Eeyore, Hook, Fairy Godmother and Chip and Dale. They played with the kids. Fairy Godmother held the kids on her lap. My son had a Buzz gun, they all seemed to think it was fun to play with. We got some great pictures. A lot of the characters came around more then once.

The characters seemed bothered and rushed when we went to Goofys.

Edit to add: we also didnt like having to leave the park for so long to eat. By time we walked to Goofys, waited for seating (had PS), ate and walked back it took us over two hour, probably about 2 1/2. We did Minnies after morning madness one morning. It was perfect- we didnt have to waste time leaving the park.

I have gone twice within the past few years and my family loved the character interaction at Goofy's Kitchen. My kids are older and still had a blast- even DH (who tolerates anything Disney) had fun! On the other hand we talked our friends into going, and they thought Goofy's Kitchen was a waste of money. We did the character dinner and thought the food was excellent. It is a bit pricey, but if you don't go that often I think it is worth it. We used our AAA card and got a small discount at the register.

We absolutely adore Goofy's Kitchen! We've only gone for dinner, but they have so many food choices, it was overwhelming (in a good way)! We saw and interacted with 8 characters - Goofy, Pluto, Peter Pan, Fairy Godmother, Captain Hook, Jasmine, Chip & Dale and they were all a blast! Food was hot and delicious, never a wait, our waiter was very attentive and friendly and character interaction rocked (and it was just us 2 adults)! We are definitely going back to Goofy's Kitchen when we stay at the Disneyland Hotel in March.

DBf and I loved Goofy's kitchen and we are both in our 20's! It was sooooo fun. DBf enjoyed the made-to-order omlettes and I loved the interaction with all the characters.
We ate there October 06 & saw Pluto, Goofy, Dale, and Captain Hook. Alice was walking around but we missed her when we both went up to get food, so she signed her name on our table cloth! So cute!!:goodvibes Still, Captain Hook was my favorite. He liked me because I was wearing a villian shirt. pirate:
I highly reccomend Goofy's kitchen!

I agree that is a problem with doing character breakfasts outside the parks. Which is why I usually go for dinner! One good thing, at the hotels, the charcter breakfasts start at 7:00, so that can be nice since you can go there first and then head to the park and sometimes get there at opening. But thats early and not for everyone. And that same scenario (of missing too much park time for breakfast) can happen at Minnie's too. We spent very close to two hours in there in June due to lots of crowds, slow service and disorganization. In fact that has happened to us every time we have eaten there dating back to the Pooh and Princess days. If Minnie's would open before the park opens, that would make that one better as far as park time too. They do that at WDW, I don't know why they don't at Disneyland.

The Plaza Inn used to open before the park did. I'm pretty sure they still do, unless the park opens at 8, then it opens at the same time.

We are huge lovers of Goofy's Kitchen. We always go there, so that means we've been there 10 times! One time the waiter took away our DS's plate while he was doing the macarena or something (he was 5 or so). When DS got back to the table and saw his food gone he got upset - didn't cry, just a sad face. The waiter saw that and had Goofy come over and help DS get more food. It was very cute. The waiter also apologized to DH and myself.

We don't usually do character breakfasts because that is the prime time to be doing the parks! We almost always do dinner. We're ready to sit down and rest, the parks are crowded so we wouldn't be making much progress there anyways. We've done the Plaza Inn as a breakfast back when it was princess themed, but that's only because they only had a breakfast. We've also done Storytellers but that's because we were staying at the GC and it was our best option for breakfast! We prefer dinner with the characters!

We loved Goofy's Kitchen. We went for breakfast at 7:20 am - gave us time to eat and have a leisurely walk through DTD on our way to the park.

We saw Goofy, Pluto, Mad Hatter, Chip n Dale, Donald, Baloo... The Mad Hatter sat with us for quite awhile and told DD jokes. It was a lot of fun.

I was told by Disney Dining (but lets face it they often have wrong info) that they no longer do that but if you have done it recently than thats good news because thats a great perk. They defintiely used to, because we used to do that each trip when it was the Pooh and Friends format. And my family is like yours, we prefer dinner. Its more expensive but a nice break and no prime park time is being taken up Also, another good thing about both the Plaza and Goofy's is they have a wide variety of characters that appeal to both girls and boys.

We haven't eaten there in years, but we ate there once for dinner. We kept comparing it to Chef Mickey's in it just didn't seem as fun. I can't remember a thing about the food which isn't a good thing.
