I'm a Universal Orlando newbie.

We're planning our first onsite stay this year. I have my favorite "must do" restaurants that I go to with every visit to Walt Disney World.

Please share your "must do" dining favorites at Universal Orlando. I'm looking for ideas.

Thanks

I did a search and the following restaurants were listed as favorites on this site

in the parks or Citywalk/resorts?

Our 1 must do: Emeril's (dinner)

Also, Pat O Brien's even if it's just for take out to take back to the hotel. We do really enjoy the atmosphere on the patio though.

Mythos has always been a must do for us too. Sadly, our last dinner there was disappointing. We'll go for lunch from now on.

After our last trip to UO, Mama Della's & The Kitchen @ HRH (breakfast) will get our return business.

We really like Latin Qtr. too, but don't make it there every visit.

I have a week long conference in August and a co-worker let me know yesterday that Emeril's and Tchoup Chop were "must do's".
When I go with the kids we rarely miss NBA City or Mythos.

Definitely Margaritaville.. fun place.. Bubba Gumps was fun, too. Pat O'brien's was nice.. they have a patio out back and inside they have a piano bar ( haven't actually been there for the piano but heard there's great audience participation htere)

Our must-do's:

Fish & Chips @ Finnegan's
Risotto of the day @ Mythos
Ceasar Flatbread Salad @ Confisco's
Bleu Cheese Chicken Pasta @ NBA City
Blackened Redfish @ O'Brien's

IOA... TS-Mythos CS- Enchanted Oak

US... TS-Finegan's CS- International Film and Food Festival

CW... TS-Margaritaville or NBA city CS-the window at Latin Quarter or the CS at Pastamore'

Resort... Tchoup Chop and Islandfs Dining Room at RPR.
It's been awhile but we also liked the Palm at HRH

Which onsite hotel will you be staying at?

Hard Rock Hotel

That is where we usually stay. The Palm Restaurant is there. We've always skipped it, because of mixed reviews. We finally walked by there on our last night. It's kind of out of the way. Anyway, we really regretted skipping it. The menu looks great! It will be a "must do" for us on our next visit. If you go, a review would be great. ;)

They also have The Kitchen, which is okay for lunch & dinner, if you don't feel like going out. By okay I mean, not the best Universal as a whole has to offer, but still good. We end up there more often for lunch, but it's great to have the option for dinner, if the weather turns nasty. The Kitchen's breakfast has improved tremendously. That's where we usually start our morning.

It just occurred to me that we've been throwing names at you, but not really saying much about the restaurant or where it's located. Many of us have been there so many times that we know Universal as well as you know WDW, & sometimes take for granted that others know exactly what we're talking about. If you need additional info about anything, feel free to ask away. :)
