What are your oldest disney memories?

My first visit was to DL..sometime in 1975 or 1976... I remember using the tickets and trying to decide what rides to go on.

I think the first trip that I really remember was 1984 or 1985 to Disneyland.

I remember the "storm" happening in the Tiki Room, and when we stepped outside after the show I couldn't believe that it had stopped raining so quickly!

My whole family being sun burnt after a day at River Country (R.I.P.). We did this on day 3 of 7 in July of 1983. The following day, you'd think that me, my sister, my mom and dad were a flock of birds because we had to walk with our arms out to the side, like wings.

God bless aloe cream

I remember the same thing! I was 7, and it was our first trip to WDW. I argued with my mom because she said the storm wasn't real and I just KNEW it was!! Darn it, she was right...

Disneyland Paris memory. On my first trip when I was 4 years old (now 20) visiting the petting zoo at the Davy Crocketts Ranch (Like Fort Wilderness) with my Dad. :goodvibes I also remember Captain Eo from the same trip. From that moment on, I realised I didn't like 4D films...

My first trip was 1977 when I was three but I remember more of my 1978 trip when I was four. I remember staying at the Contemporary.

This is from my first trip to WDW circa 1984. I don't remember much, but I remember being really really REALLY tired afterward.

Love the pose Todd, but you should really switch that hat out for a tiara! :goodvibes

Thought this be a fun thread.

What are the oldest things you can remember from going to disney?

The castle cake at magic kingdom i am not sure how old i was (i am 17 now)

My daughter is your age and she was 4 when we went and saw the Castle Cake. So you would have been about 4 or 5.

My earliest memory is watching it being built, and my Mom saying "Next year we will go"! But I remember the construction site. I was about 15 or 16.

Awesome "vintage" pictures guys :)

My oldest memory has to be standing on main street as a little kid at Christmas, and being super confused at the bubble snow.

I couldn't understand for the life of me why they would try and make it snow in Florida!XD

Nice. I feel ancient. I'm in a vintage picture.

Where's the funeral dirge when you need it?:goodvibes:goodvibes

My grandparents rented an on sight air stream (the original f/w cabins) camper at Fort Wilderness in 1974-75. But my parents scared me for life when they told me that the first knew about me when they stayed at the Polly in March 1973(I was born in November do the math!) I almost went blind and deaf when I realized what they told meAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

My brother and I were at Disneyland with our mom and grandma. We got on the speedway in Fantasyland. When we got off there was no one waiting for us. We had to go up to a ticket booth and say we are lost. Apparently the had gone to look at something and went to the speedway in tomorrowland. Our day was cut short because of the time it took us to reconnect.

I was in about the 4th grade, so 1998?

I remember finding Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in the rose garden at the very, very end of the night. There were seriously only about three other kids there at the time. I got their autographs and a photo and I wasn't rushed away at all. It was awesome.

I remember riding 20,000 Leagues. I was 17 months old! For years I had a really vivid memory of being in a "boat" going underwater and being able to see out into the water. I didn't put it together until a few years ago. I was looking through some old albums and found pictures of our only trip to WDW. The date was April 1977. When I started researching my first trip as an adult for 2007, I found some stuff about 20,000 Leagues and I recognized it immediately! As that was my only trip until 2007, my memory had to be from 1977. Proof that no child is "too young to remember" a trip to Disney!!!

My first trip was to DisneyLand....right after my husband got stationed in San Diego. I was pregnant with my DD....it was 1977...I remember that my main focus was to get on It's a Small World (saw it at the New York Worlds Fair when I was 9 years old...yeah, I know I'm dating myself)...then we got on the Matterhorn....didn't like that ride.....I remember trying to figure out using the tickets...

I remember staying in an Airstream trailer at Ford Wilderness. It was 1975 and I was 9 years old. I remember thinking how neat it was to be staying in a trailer (we weren't campers so this was a unique experience). We had driven down there and I kept myself amused on the 3 day trip by reading multiple Bobsey Twin mysteries (I was addicted to those books! LOL). We were easily amused back then.... we were even amused by the cow creamers in Tennesee. ROFL

I remember watching the Bicentennial parade ... I remember really big heads of famous Americans (were they really in the parade?) We bought an old American flag to wave around. I remember horseback riding with my dad at Ft Wilderness. I remember going to the Luua at the Polynesian. I remember my first EVER Dole whip. <sigh> And.. hahaha I remember how I loved the Tiki Birds (boy, did THAT opinion ever change :rotfl: )

And the thing that made this trip extremely memorable.... I remember my mom and her friend riding bicycles in Ft. Wilderness... and one of them getting their tires stuck on a rail track causing her to crash into the other. Down they went in a huge crumple. Disney first aiders were dispatched and my mom spent the rest of the vacation with a scraped up knee. Oh well. :sad2:

Ha...the next time I was in Walt Disney World was 1992. It took 17 years to get back ... and I haven't stopped since. :thumbsup2

I remember eating Tonga toast at the Poly at what I think was called the Tonga Terrace.
I remember being at the pool at the Poly when Goofy and Pluto rode up on a banana boat, ran across the beach and swam in the pool. (I have pictures for you non believers)
I remember buying special "mickey celebration' mugs at the emporium for the 10th anniversary of the MK. We still use those mugs for special occasions for our grandchildren!
