We like to keep things low key for New Year's Eve and stay off of the roads as much as possible. A nice dinner with friends and then watching the ball drop. How about you?
When I used to DJ with a friend many moons ago, we were out every year LATE. Too LATE! Twenty or more years of that can be a bit much. Now we just enjoy quiet at home or close to home with family. The last few years we've been spending the early evening with my parents at a local chinese restaurant. Then we go back to their house for desert. Pretty much 5 minutes away.
I don't know what we're doing this year, but we normally fall asleep before midnight! Even though I stay up past midnight almost every night, for some reason I can't make it that late on New Year's! One of our favorite things was always to watch Conan's Midwest New Year's celebration - it was at 11:00 instead of midnight! But I guess that probably won't be on anymore now that he's on The Tonight Show earlier.
Last year we invented the Crazy Hat Party. We donned silly hats, went to dinner then came home and played Wii until the wee hours. It was fun! This year we are taking our party on the road and will be be visiting friends at WDW. We probably won't be going into a park but we'll find something to entertain ourselves.
I'm sure I'll be watching my Twilight Zone Marathon, clicking over just to watch the ball drop, then back to the Marathon until around 2:30 a.m. Woohoo...exciting....
Its going to be low key for us. I'll be watching Twilight Zone until NC B. gets home from work with takeout. We then snuggle and ring in the new year with champagne and choclate cherries.
Probably hanging out with my family and a few friends. Definitely gonna watch Kathy Griffin and Andy Cooper (if you watch My Life On The D-List, you know the joke) on CNN. Probably gonna do a little dancing at the after party, LOL.
Jason (my husband) has to work New Years Eve Night from 11 pm-7am. So Aaron (my son) and I are going over to my mom's house to have hor'dourves and bubble juice (sparkling grape juice). We will probably dance to some music and then we are going to spend the night.
My DH and I will be enjoying an early dinner reservation, then will stroll through Baltimore's Inner Harbor as we walk back to our house, then at midnight we will step out of our house and enjoy Baltimore's fireworks from our street welcoming in the New Year with our neighbors.
