What are your 'must-see' characters at WDW?

Usually I don't the character meet-and-greet thing, but with my friend coming with us this time for her first trip to WDW, I thought it would be nice for us to get pics with some of the characters especially since my friend loves photography and would really like to get some character shots.

We both know we want to see Peter Pan, and since I'm a huge BATB fan, I'm determined to see Gaston. And of course Mickey. ;) But what are some of the characters you must see at WDW, especially those that are the most interactive?

Also, while neither of us are huge fans of Frozen, we do love Elsa and Anna. Of course, neither of us are going to wait in the lengthy standby line to meet them. So is getting FP+ for the meet and greet worth it or would you have rather used it on something else?

Baloo and King Louie have a regular meet-and-greet at Animal Kingdom. I'm a Jungle Book fan, so they're a fun couple of dudes. We've never gotten a shot with DeVine (sp?) at AK, but that could also be a fun search and a good shot if you find her.

If your friend is a photography buff, might also be worth asking the Photopass photographers about any magic shots they can do for you -- different ones around all the parks. My kids saw it as their goal on our last trip to get as many of those as possible. Definitely gives you something a little different to do as you walk around.

Cinderella's stepfamily is also a favorite of ours. The sisters, in particular, are hilarious and very interactive.

If you want to see Anna and Elsa, try and get a FP+ for it. They are very difficult to get. Also, if there are any really late closes, try and meet them after 11pm.

Characters that are fun to meet:

Goofy
Stitch
Chip and Dale
Tiana and Naveen (after 5pm at MK)

Sorcerer Mickey (is there anything more Disney than this?), Donald Duck for sure, and the BEE-you-dee-ful Mary Poppins. I always get pictures with these three.

The girls have to get all the princesses, of course.

Depends on who your favorites are. I always have to go see Phineas and Ferb at DHS.

I'm a huge fan of "Up," and had a great time meeting Russell & Dug at AK. Russell was ready to come home with me (so was Dug until he heard he would have to get on an airplane).

I have to second Tiana and Naveen - they were great, chatty and so much fun. I think because they are the "20th Century" royalty, they're a little more relaxed - and I actually met them on Mardi Gras, which was a great conversation starter.

Met Tink for the 1st time on Friday and she was great! I also love Merida, but I gotta support my redhead princesses. PP was a hoot. Met him, Captain Hook and Mr See at the Pirates n Pals cruise. I am fairly certain he is the real Peter Pan.

I'm not a big character person, to be honest, but I love Gaston! He is just so hilarious (not to mention hunky). Sometimes even if i don't get in line to meet him, I'll lurk nearby the tavern just to watch him with other guests because he's always so funny and such a jerk. Bahahah.

Oddly enough, I think as I've gotten older, I've gotten a little bit more into meeting characters. I actually met Mickey and Minnie for the first time during one of my trips this year, and I nearly cried from excitement. I'm not joking. I am embarrassed by how excited I was. It was bizarre.

First, I love your Screenname!

Now to answer. Mickey is the number one, "If I can only meet ONE", top of the list, must meet character at Disney. All others can fall by the wayside, especially if it's a short trip.
Recently, and if there's time, Cinderella's Step-Family and Chip & Dale have also made the list. Gaston if we're around when he's greeting. He's definitely a riot!
Lastly, Beast is the only character left on my childhood bucket list.

Since your a huge BATB fan you should do a BOG dinner then you can get a picture with Bell and the Beast. I'm probably wrong but I don't recall Peter Pan doing M&G, only see him in the parade.Donald in Mexico is fun.

Belle isn't at BOG, just the Beast. If you want to see Belle at MK, you'll need to do Enchanted Tales with Belle. At Epcot, she's in France in her blue dress or at Akershus restaurant in her yellow dress.

Peter Pan does meet daily -- he used to meet by the line for Peter Pan's Flight with Wendy, but while they were doing work on the line they moved him to Adventureland Verandah, I believe. I don't think he meets with Wendy anymore, though. He's always a fun one -- we see him every time we go.

We'll see there you go, I was wrong. I just didn't ever recall seeing him before. Maybe we just got lucky but the one time had dinner at BOG, but we took a pic with Belle also.

Gaston is one of my favorites. He's hysterical and just perfect.
Mickey speaks now in MK so I would suggest going there. He did a card trick with me and my mom and it was adorable.
Phineas and Ferb are funny at DHS. they've sort of become my boyfriends as of last trip ;-)
I always love seeing Max (Goofy's son and the first character who decided he's my boyfriend) but I couldn't find him last trip.
I'd say definitely go see A&E. The interactions with them, especially Anna, are wonderful. Same with Merida. Definitely worth it but I'd say FP+ A&E. We did the first time I saw them when I was there. Waited 5 minutes, 10 at the most. Not bad at all. Wait was about two hours of so for standby.

- Gaston, of course! He's great. I met him twice this last trip. Whoops!
- Ariel because she's my favorite princess.
- Fairy Godmother. The Fairy Godmother meet in front of the castle is simply magical. You come out feeling positive and bubbly and the photos that come along are some of the most precious things- mine (in my avatar) is the most cherished photo of my most recent trip.
- Buzz and Woody. They have the cutest meet at Pixar Place and they're so much fun.
- Princess Merida. She's the sweetest.
- Peter Pan (if you can manage!). His M&Gs are really hard to get into, sometimes he doesn't meet, most of the time the line fills up before he gets there- he can be a mess, but he's worth it.
- Rapunzel! Her and Cindy's line at PFTH is usually overlooked and she's so great.
- If you can manage an Anna and Elsa FP+ or don't mind waiting in a long line, I encourage you to meet them once on your trip. They're really magical and wonderful. The actresses who portray them are fabulous.

Last summer we met many characters and my favourite was Tiana. Very friendly and really paid attention to my dd.

Gaston really is funny. We always look for Peter Pan and Mickey in any form.

I love Tigger and Pooh in England at Epcot (or is it UK? Neither one sounds quite right at the moment)!!!

Also, why not try a character meal to kind of kill 2 birds with one stone (you have to eat anyway).

That said, if she's IN the pictures, she's not really going to be doing much photographing.

Tigger and Pooh's antics were fun and they took their time. We saw Buzz in tomorrowland at MK by himself and he was really pretty funny as well. The Stepsisters are a hoot and make a nice photo. Anna and Elsa were a must do for us because my 6 year old DD is into them, and it was nice, but honestly not the most entertaining meet and greet. If it were me and DH we'd much rather use that FP for a ride.

Would have loved to get Peter Pan but we missed that one

Belle! She is my favorite princess, and I will gladly wait 45 + minutes to meet her (and from my last visit, I was not the only 20-something who was willing to).

On my last visit I was able to meet Cinderella's Stepsisters and they were hilarious! I hope to meet them again.
