Hi I am planning to make ADR's for our upcoming trip. What are your must eats? We are OP and would like to do some charater dining. The kids are mostly boys so not interested in CRT, or the other princess meal. Mostly dinners, so far we are thinking:
Chef Mickeys
Whispering Cayons
Liberty Tree Tavern
I need some input and other ideas! Thanks in advance,

Amy

My son is 11 and he loves Liberty Tree Tavern and Chef Mickey's. He sits through the princess meals for his sister's sake but is now saying he won't go back after Aurora kept trying to kiss him and sit next to him at the Norway place earlier this month! He also really enjoyed O'Hana for dinner, no characters but a lot of fun games for the kids to play. They need a character meal geared for boys (I know I am the one millionth person to say this but I'll say it again anyway!). Your boys would probably also enjoy the Hoop De Doo Review.

Here are my favorite places to dine at Disney World:

Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern
Casey's
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Rose & Crown
Le Cellier
Tusker House
50's Primetime Cafe

Also, from what I have heard, MGM Studios is starting a Toy Story character meal soon.

I have two boys, ages 10 and 6, and they (and we) enjoy Chef Mickey's for dinner. It's become a first night tradition for us, and I doubt we'll ever be able to change that! :goodvibes :goodvibes

We've tried Donald's b-sauraus in the past, but didn't like it at all. From what I've been reading, there is supposed to be a new character dining experience with Toy Story characters at MGM starting in April. Friends of mine are going in June, and called for ADR's yesterday. The CM they spoke to said they have no information on a character meal at MGM. I guess they'll keep calling just in case.

Some of our other "musts" are BOMA, and now Ohana. We also LOVED Le Cellier (my kids loved it too!) but I doubt we'd eat there again if we had to pay out of pocket for it. We'd have to be on the dining plan in order for it to be afforable for us.

HTH's!

Our favorites have changed over the years but always include (if time permits - ;)

- Olivia's @OKW
- Le Cellier @Epcot
- Crystal Palace @MK
- Earl of Sandwich @DTD
- House of Blues
- Rose & Crown @Epcot

We also like the California Grill and Jiko but can't always work them in. We've been to Hoop-de-Doo several times. We hope to visit Raglan Road next time.

I also like the Coral Reef, but it's costly. Snacks we enjoy include the funnel cakes in America @Epcot, Dole Whips in the MK and Margaritas @Captain Jack's or in Mexico @Epcot.

Our favorites include:

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Cape May Cafe clambake
Rainforest Cafe
Must trys if you haven't done them before: 50's PrimeTime Cafe and Sci Fi at MGM!
:)

My ds5 Favs include:
Teppanyaki
Ohana (haven't tried the character breakfast)
Chef Mickey's
Rose and Crown (or try the take out window)
Crystal Palace

We all love Earl of Sandwich and Tusker House for quality. TH portions are huge, so end up being a good value if splitting meals.

Our favorites also include:
Cape May Cafe clambake (BC)
Rainforest Cafe (outside AK)
Boma (AK)
50's PrimeTime Cafe and Sci Fi (MGM)
Electric Umbrella (Quick bite at EPCOT)
Coral Reef, Alfredos, Le Cellier, (EPCOT)
Gullivers (Swan)
Spoodles (BW)
ENJOY! :drinking:

It is so interesting that you posted this b/c I was just looking at our ADR's for our July trip and realized that our only "must-do" that we're actually doing is Liberty Tree Tavern at the MK. Some of our "must do's" that didn't make the cut this time are:

Boma
'Ohana
Kona Cafe
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys

I think we've tired of these for a while. This time we're trying 2 new places: Chefs de France and the Princess Storybook Lunch. We're also dining at the Plaza - this will be our second time there - and we just fell in love with it on our last trip. It's just a quiet little victorian styled place with great sandwiches and ice cream right on the corner of Main Street. I have one ADR there already and may make another one for our departure day.

So I think as frequent guests (annual if not twice a year) we've grown tired of our old favorites and will be giving some new places a try. I'm so excited, too!

We also liked Garden Grill. It has a rotating resturant that overlooks Living with the Land in Epcot. It moves so slowly but its really neat as your surroundings change. Si Fi was pretty neat, and so was prime time at MGM!

Le Cellier
Chef Mickeys
Crystal Palace
Boma
Liberty Tree Tavern

Our must-do's this time around are Chef Mickey's and 50's Primetime Cafe and DH MUST get a turkey leg somewhere on-property. I would have liked to go to the Princess Breakfast at Norway and the Clam Bake at Beach Club, but unless free dining is offered they won't fit in the budget.

Last time we did Liberty Tree Tavern for the character dinner and Donald's Breakfastosaurus in Animal Kingdom.

Must do's

'Ohana
LTT
Frozen lemondae stand at MGM

and off site Texas de Brazil

You have gotten a lot of responses, My DH and I fav resturants are:

Cinderellas Royal Table
Chef Mickey's(breakfast)
California Grill
50's Prime Time
Le Cellier

   Must Dos are:

Boma's
50's Primetime
SciFi Dine-In (the newest to our list)
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Ohana's
Hoop Dee Doo Review

Enjoy!!!!

My boys must do's is Goofy's Candy caldron to build cups and slushes. The also want to build their own snacks this time.

I have two sons. Our must-do's every trip:

Sci Fi: Great theming.

Donald's Breakfastosaurus: We have to get our Donald fix! :donald: The theming here is more "boy" oriented than most character meals. You'll see mixed reviews for Donald's, but we've been there 5 times and have had a great experience every time.

Kona Cafe: Great food, especially the desserts.

Rainforest Cafe: Great theming.

Earl of Sandwich: Fantastic sandwiches, great prices.

Okay thanks for all your responses!! After much consideration and a larger conference with our Grand Gathering group, we have decided which dinners to try. We are all on the dining plan, staying at POR for 6 days 5 nights.
This is what we all came up with for dinner:
Whispering Canyon Café
Crystal Palace
1900 Park Fare
Hoop Dee Do Review
Chef Mickey’s
Donald’s Breakfast Buffet at Animal Kingdom, hopefully to get on the new ride first thing in the morning. I can’t wait to ride this, so I made 8 am ADR’s for this meal.

The CM I spoke with was very helpful, they did have to split us into 2 table that will be near each other for a few of the meal. But that's okay with us, I can't wait this is all of our first trip to WDW!!!
