I'm making a list of my must do's for our trip in a week and a half. We have been many times, but this is our first long visit as APs, so we can be more leisurely about the experience.

This is what I have so far (of course not including generally, "go on rides")

List of Activities to do:

Alice and Mad Hatter musical chairs – Coke Corner 2pm
Pixar Play Parade Inside Out preshow
Lunch at Tangora Terrace at DLH
Trader Sam’s for drinks and apps (must be before 8pm)
Roger Rabbit ride (we have never done this)
Watch the lights come on in Carsland
Visa M&G picture
Visit Build-a-Bear
Take the monorail from the park to DTD for lunch

What are some of your fun must do's? Things that are just a fun part of your trip that aren't necessarily rides or typical activities?

Have you been inside the little theatre on Main Street and watched all of the Mickey cartoons? We somehow missed this only until about 2 years ago (I've been a passholder since '94 for reference) and they're super neat. Plus you can't beat A/C in the summer time heat!

I have done that only once with just one of my girls. Adding to list! Thank you!

on the Mark Twain, ask to RIDE WITH THE CAPTAIN. You may have to wait for the next rotation if someone else has requested it. You get escorted onto the ship before the other passengers and brought up to the Captains Wheel Cabin, The Captain of the ship will explain procedures and once you get the go ahead and are off, you get to steer the boat. SOOOO much fun , you get to chat to the Captain and have an amazing view. At the end you sign the log book and get a special certificate :)

On the Monorail, ask to RIDE UP FRONT with the driver. Not sure if this is still being allowed but you can try.

Do a full complete circuit of the park on the train

Oh, yes, the Mark Twain one! thanks! Adding it and the monorail. We do the train one every visit at least three times. DD3 loves trains. :)

just thought of something else. We tried this year but didnt get to the park early enough. Be at the park for rope drop and go straight to Main Street Train Station and see if you can ride the Lily Belle. We got there at 9am and the CM said we needed to be at park opening to make a reservation. It only runs early in the morning for a few park rotations.

....ride snow white 4 times in a row to memorize all the wonderful detail in the kitchen, the best themed square footage in Disneyland and no one sees it because those mine cars move very fast....why I don't know....

Must do? :stir:

POTC every time :)
All the headliners at both parks
Among each headliner try to get both day and night on ToT, BTMRR, RSR, Matterhorn and (if possible) CA Screamin (hard because of WOC)
Start one morning at rope drop in FantasyLand (Peter Pan always first!, plus Alice and Toad at minimum)
World of Color
Tigger Tails (Pooh Corner)
Rainforest Cafe

:wizard:

I'm glad you're including Car Toon Spin in your plan! Actually, I really enjoy that ride -- it's a good, solid dark ride -- and it has an interesting queue. Plus, if the rumors about the fate of Toontown end up being true, well.... ride Car Toon Spin now, just in case!

Our only must-do, is that we have to do something we have never done before! It is fun to find new things to include on each trip.

For our last impromptu trip last weekend, it was to camp out for a parade. We hadn't seen PTN and we aren't normally parade watchers, so the whole experience was new to us.

For our October trip, our new thing is to stay Concierge at the GC. We have stayed at the GC before, but not Concierge;)

Hope you have a great trip!

Aladdin
Trader Sams
Cafè Orleans (HM view)
HM
Late night spin on Grizzly...or ten
At least one night past close and a leisurely walk to the exit.

We go very frequently, too, so our list of must-do's on every trip is different than for a long trip. However, we just got back from our long trip for the summer and here are the ones we did that I don't normally do on our 1/2 day or 1 day trips, but that we tend to do on all of our longer trips:

Anna/Elsa M&G (yes, the wait is actually worth it if any of your kids love Frozen)
Scorcerer's Workshop/Beast's Library
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (my 5-year-old boy loves this)
Explore Toontown
Monorail
Tarzan's Treehouse
leisurely walk around both parks
Mickey pancakes for breakfast

My must-do's for short trips are:

Pirates
HM
IASM
Little Mermaid Ride
Monster's Inc.
Grizzly River Run

When we stayed at GCH, my daughter wrote a letter to Peter Pan and we gave it to the CM at the check in counter asking him to pass it on to Peter. The next day they had a surprise envelope for her with some really cool things.

When we stay at DLH in Sept, she will write to a different character and give it to the CM there.
