What are your luxury items on your grocery shopping list?

Kerrygold butter (American butter is terrible)

Fairlife Milk (costs like 100% more than regular milk, but it's higher protein and lower sugar and also lactose free)

High quality meats

Those are the main things I splurge on, but in general, I don't have a grocery budget and spend what I want on good food. It's important to us. My husband grew up very poor and has bad memories of eating crap food.

/
flavored coffee-creamer
free-range eggs
organic milk (not because I buy everything organic, but because the dates are way better, and I can stay one ahead)
pre-sliced cheese for crackers if I'm feeling lazy
and another vote for out-of-season fruit

Seafood—salmon, shrimp, crab and scallops.

Grass fed beef

Berries—blueberries, blackberries, red raspberries, strawberries

I buy the Costco eggs that are free range. They come 2 dozen to a pack. They’re eggs so not crazy expensive, but more than regular eggs.

wow, its an everyday item here in Ireland, lol, just curious, how much does it cost? the large block, 454g is €3.50 here in Ireland, which is approx $4.24

I'm also surprised by everyone saying fruit / berries are luxury items.

I think it's the price. I mean $2.00 for an orange is a lot of money, IMO. Granted it's a darn good orange, but still. I saw someone upthread is paying over $5 for a pint of blackberries. I'm only paying $2.00 for a pint right now so not a luxury to me.

I really don't splurge on much. I will sometimes buy the very expensive Asian Pears if they are around and look good. I do buy some chai tea powder that is maybe a tad expensive for how many cups it makes, but it's only like 3 bucks a canister. I go through it pretty fast though!

seriously??? $2.00 for an orange??? a single orange at my grocery store is €0.55 / $0.66 and 125g carton of blackberries is €2.99 /$3.62

Exactly. It's a Sumo or Satsuma Tangerine. They are only out for about 4 weeks this time of year. I love them. If I buy a box of 9, they are $15 which is $1.66 per orange. If I want to buy them individually, that same store will charge me $2.99 or the orange. Other stores have them in a price range of $1.50-$2.00 per orange.

The 8 oz block is regular price $4.99 at my local kroger. This week it is $3.49 on sale plus there's a .50 off coupon. I need to get a couple this week when I shop. 8 oz is the largest size they have.
