It's almost time for school to be out. I stay home, so I will be here with my kids. Do your kids go to day camp, daycare, etc? Are you putting them in any fun activities? The choices are endless. I think we have to do swimming lessons. We are lucky because our school distric has a program that is held twice a week where the kids can go to the park and have a structured activity with supervisor. They also have the chance to eat in the park everyday. The county provides lunches every day for the kids because a lot of kids stay home by themselves and don't get a very healthy lunch. We only do the lunches on the days of the activities because I am here for her, and I feel like we are taking advantage.

im working full time at a day care again this summer..theres a summer camp there all day every day that kids come to--

DH and I both work outside the home, so DS is going to 4 sessions of Y Day Camp. 9-4, Mon-Friday. We are taking a couple of long weekend trips, so he will get some downtime, and since he does not have to be to camp til 9, we will relax bed time a bit.

And on weekends, we will hopefully be boating with my parents.

Town playground time for six weeks -- 8:30 to noon. Other than that no organized activities, sports, etc.! :bounce: :bounce: No schedules! They can play outside with all the neighbors, and we'll go camping as many weekends as we can.

DD is going to help at Girl Scout Day Camp for a week (she was done with school yesterday so the rest of this week and next will be spent cleaning her room) and then she is babysitting the rest of the summer to make some money for her new room in our basement.

I work at a summer program at our church on Tue, Wed, and Thurs from 9am-1pm. We take field trips mostly to places like skating, movies, gymnastics, bowling, etc... plus we do some crafts. The kids love doing this and they get to spend time with friends while there.

DD will be going away to camp for the first time ever. It's a week long camp about an hour from home. She is excited. I thought it was a great idea when I signed her up, but as it gets closer I get more nervous. She knows alot of people who will be there that week and we are friends with one of the adult counselors. DS will be attending a basketball day camp one week.

AND...we leave tomorrow for 3 days at the beach and 5 days at Universal Studios Orlando!!

Our town has a great summer rec. program and we try to take advantage of it. I'm just not creative enough to keep them busy and as they get older they get interests they can explore.
DD#1 is in a musical theatre program from 9-12 in the morning from June 14 to July 24. She may also be doing a volleyball camp for 3 afternoons in June, if her grades hold up (has 6 As and 1 C right now, in science, and had a C on a test in there yesterday even though "half the class failed" she's never had a C and we would have to cut something.) Luckily after our recital June 10 there is no dance until after Labor Day. She MAY also go to a church mission camp thing the week after that, and wants to volunteer at VBS in August for a week, which is fine since the other two will be attending.
DD#2 is signing up for the summer swim team, 45 minutes of practice each weekday from June 7 until July 22. She also has one week of basketball camp from 3-5 in June and MAY do 4 days of cheerleading camp the last week of July in the afternoons. Tuesdays from June 22 to July 21 will be swim meets in the afternoon, but I can leave DD#1 and DS at home. Also VBS in August.
DS will be doing one week of junior soccer camp from June 28-July 1, swim lessons June 21-July 1, and TBall 2 mornings a week (he is 6). Also VBS
As you can see we keep busy but I tried to keep afternoons free (except for the various camps) for the city pool--we just got our city passes--we have to use it 11 times to get our $$ out of it! I want to try to get up a little earlier to walk and get housework done--I go back to work Aug. 23 and it always seems like I have nothing to show for my summer vacation except mileage on the car!

Unless something comes up, DSs wont be going to camp. I stay at home so we will spend time working on the library summer reading program ourselves, and of course plenty of time outside by the pool, and playing with the neighborhood kids.
We are also spending 1 week in WDW and taking a 7 day cruise to Bermuda.

For sports this summer - I'll be doing 2 seperate weeks of basketball camps, a summer long track program, and a summer long tennis program.

Because of my sister, I'll be going on LOTS of college tours some with my cousins, and some without.

I'll also run in a 5 mile race in Cape Cod. And we have several family vacations planned.

Trying to get in everything before I have to start working next summer  :( !!!

All 3 kids are taking swimming lessons.

7 yr old: pee wee golf and maybe swim team

almost 6 yr old: pee wee golf and maybe pee wee tennis

4 yr old: a few mornings of summer camp (6 total for the summer) at her preschool and maybe pee wee tennis

All of this is done from 9-11am (except the 6 days of summer camp that go until 12:30), so the kids will eat lunch and have the entire day to play outside, swim and get together with friends.

I'm looking forward to a lot of cookouts, fires and just hanging out with family and friends. We're also taking a short trip to Boston and a trip (hopefully with friends of ours) to Florida.

I'm going to take hime down to Mystic Ct. area for a few days in July, and in Aug. planing on takeing hime to Copperstown NY and over to Lake George area for a few days, plus a couple times to the waterslide park. So hopefuly he won't be boared!

Keep on swimmin', swimmin', swimmin...

My mom is babysitting all summer. (She lives 20 minutes away from us, and babysits every summer and some during the school year, too.)

The big kids (12yo & 10yo) have swim team four mornings and two afternoons a week, plus meets all morning on Saturdays. Grandma takes them to the pool just for fun many, many times too. By the end of the summer they'll be brown as nuts, even with the use of sunscreen.

10yoDD is signed up for 2 weeks of basketball camps (2 hours a day). 12yoDS is doing the first week with her. He's not really interested, but is willing, and I think DD will be more comfortable having him there. It's coed, and she'll be one of the youngest and one of the few girls, so *I* feel more comfortable having him there, too.

4yo DD will do lots of swimming lessons, and playing at the pool with Grandma.

Oh, and the big kids want to do junior lifeguarding. DS did it last year and learned a lot and had a blast, and wants to do it again. DD is finally old enough this year.

Did I tell you they'll be swimming?

And lots of reading for fun, which they love.

And I have to go to work. :(

Let's see.. we are going to Hawaii for 2 weeks the day school let's out.. a week after we come back she is going to a girl scout camp for a week.. they are actually going to Nantucket for 4 nites. The day after she comes home from that she is going to her usual overnite camp for 2 weeks then when she get's back she has a week of basketball day camp....
The 3 weeks she is gone should be restful anyway :)

DD is doing a skating camp at our rink. She will skate 9-1:00 T, W, F. That ought to keep her busy and out of my hair. DS isn't a problem, so I am not worried about keeping him busy.

Well, I have High Schoolers, and I just got the info on what they will be doing today.

DS will be weight lifting every night with speed and agility camp Mon. and Thurs. for the whole summer. Then he has 2 1 week football camps with doubles starting early August.

DD has 2 weeks of basketball camp and the basketball summer league (varsity), and 1 week of soccer camp. She also has the speed and agility camp. Then there is te CPR class she has to take to be a trainer for football and we need to fit in drivers ed.

DS with special needs will be doing golf, and tennis. He also swims in our pool every day for about 2 hours. Hopefully he will have friends over.

Honestly I am not sure. They were suppose to be going to the Boys & Girls Club BUT they are now only going to be open in the afternoon, which doesn't really help a lot since I work 8 - 5.

And since my oldest is "too old" for any other activities in the area, I am stuck. I am trying to get her to go to summer school to help make up for the time she was out due to illness and tonsilectomy but she is being very resistant. My yongest is being odd and won't go to the one week soccer camp I thought she'd love.

So it looks like afternoons will be spent at the local pool and mornings well ... I don't know. I have 3 weeks to figure it out.

DS & I have a 4night trip planned July 4th wknd to the White Mtns, NH
mid July we have a 6night trip planned to the Hampton Beach area in NH
mid Aug we have a 4night trip planned camping in Maine

(we are still working on the summer sched at work)

Well hopefully ds 16 will pass his lifeguard test on sun. and then will start applying for jobs. Work at the bowling alley is slow in the summer. He will probably bug me to get his driving permit and if he is not working he will help at vbs at church in july.

DS 14 will go to swimming lessons and help at vbs

DS 12 will go to swimming lessons and go to vbs.

We are going to texas in aug. to see the yankees versus rangers games and to see friends etc. Already did our disney trip this year.

If ds doesnt get a job we will go to nj to clean out fil house and go to great adventure etc.

They just like to hang out with the neighborhood kids etc.

Mine will be home with me. Oldest daughter (almost 7) will be on our pools swim team, and my youngest will be taking swimming lessons... she, too, wants to be on the swim team (she's an AWESOME swimmer at 4 years of age), but the kids have to be 5 to start on the team :(

Oldest DS.....hopefully gets a "real" job now that he just graduated from college!

Middle DS (17).....working out every morning at 6 am for basketball. Also, he will be going to football camp and then the beginning of August starting football practice.

Youngest DS (15).....going to a camp for drummers at Michigan State and than high school band camp up north.

All 3 of them will be joing DH and I on a trip to WDW and Universal in June!! Can't wait!
