What are your go to restaurants?

We had always liked The Wave, but poor service did us in last week. We're going to skip it for awhile.

Call WDW or email them and let them know about your issues. We had a horrible experience last year at the Wave (our go-to-every-trip-restaurant); service was abysmal, food was poor to the point we sent one item back twice and asked after the second time just to remove it from our bill. Once we got back home I emailed WDW and ended up not only getting a gift card for the value of our meal (not my intention) but ended up with the manager's phone number for when we went back a few months later. The next trip was much improved, and some friends who were at WDW at the same time went a different night and also had a great experience.

My wife and I love Kona. The food is very good, and fresh and reasonably priced. Not the fanciest place in WDW, but solid every time. It blows the doors off 'Ohana, plus the lobby of the Poly is just cool.
Had a very good steak at the Yachtsman two trips ago. I think it's better than Le Cellier.

We also tried Trails End and Homecoming. We really enjoyed them both.

DH hates buffets so getting him to try Trails End was a chore. But we had 4 teenage boys to feed. We had a 5:00 reservation. We were all pleasantly surprised. Even DH enjoyed the meal. Plus, the Annual Pass discount was great.

DH and I went to Homecoming one night. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was really good.

4 of the 6 of us went to Chef Mickeys of breakfast. We had a 7:15am reservation. Food was fresh and the place was clean. I had heard some of those criticisms.

I came to the conclusion that it is best to get to the buffets for the first seating.

We try to rotate in new ones on each trip, but these are usually on our list.

In the parks:
Tusker House
CP
BOG dinner
Columbia Harbour House
Spice Road Table

At resorts:
California Grille
1900 Park Fare
Grand Floridian Cafe (if we are staying there - I think this is one of the most overlooked TS restaurants)
Kona Cafe
Artist Point
Boma
Sanaa

First night Ohana tradition my now 16 yr. DS favorite
Kona for breakfast
Trails End for good somewhat quiet dinner away from the parks
The Boathouse yum!!!
Columbia Harbor House and Roaring Forks for a mid day respite from the August heat!!!

Thank you. You are right, we should not just accept the bad service.

For us it's The Brown Derby. There they serve the original Cobb salad, which is much different from the "Cobb salads" served in other restaurants. It is so finely chopped that you could describe it as "riced" and eat it with a spoon, and the taste is heavenly. Other dishes are also good, but that Cobb salad takes this restaurant over the top for us.

Our musts every single trip are Jiko and San Angel Inn. We like the food and the atmosphere of both restaurants. There's definitely some sentimental value there as well.

We also do drinks at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar every trip. Usually the day we get in.

Earl of Sandwich is a must for us. I'm getting a craving for it just thinking about it. May can't come soon enough! :)

Kona Café is a long time favorite. Garden Grill is my new favorite place for breakfast.

We go twice a year and try to rotate our favorites to not do twice in one year.

Resorts
California Grill
La Trattoria al Forno (We stay at BCV a lot. This one usually makes an every trip appearance.)
Beaches and Cream (Ditto the above.)
Jiko
Sanaa

Parks
Restaurant Marrakesh
Le Cellier
50's Prime Time

QS
Casey's
Flame Tree BBQ

We are hoping to try Art Smith's Homecoming at DS.
We liked Boathouse, but the area we were seated in was very noisy. We went to Morimoto's opening week and were very underwhelmed.

I like to try a couple new ones every trip or at least go back to one that we haven't been to in several years.
Our most recent trip in March we went to Teppan Edo (which we hadn't been to many years and enjoyed it very much)
Our usual stops include: Ohana's, Cape May, Biergarten, Grand Floridian Cafe, and lately La Trottoria.
We also occasionally go to: Whispering Canyon, Coral Reef, Chef de France.
We have never done Hoop de Doo so that is on our list for our next trip in November.

Califod that rnia Grill and fling Fish are go to's. We have tried Narcoossee's twice now and the second time walked out before even ordering dinner. The service had been horrible and both times they were out of things .Now bear in mind that neither time was it summer or an exceptionally busy time.I also enjoy Kimono's and Morimoto's is excellent.

We have 2 go-tos, one is CS-Tangerine Cafe-a must do. The other is Beaches and Cream-when we can get an ADR!
When we stay at OKW, we find ourselves gravitating to Olivia's several times during the trip.

Our newest must do, is the Nomads lounge in AK, sit on the outside patio. Great place for drinks and small plates for lunch!

Saana TS at Animal Kingdom Villas, Kidani Village, we seem to always go there each trip. The others are often dependent on the resort area we are staying.

We ate at Artist Point (signature TS) last week and the food was excellent. We had read here on the DisBoards that the food was good again. We had always recommended it in the past but then had two bad experiences so had not been there for a couple of years. But it was really good food this trip.

Another restaurant that is a definite is Tiffins (signature TS) in DAK. We ate there for our anniversary in early April. It was wonderful.

We enjoy Kona for breakfast and Beaches and Cream for Lunch. LTT was a favorite lunch place but I don't want to pay all you can eat for a turkey dinner so unless they change that back then it's still off the list for us. I do like to try at least one new place each trip.
