What are your favorite Wii games - Disney and otherwise?

The WalMart that was in today's paper (not Black Friday) featured a Wii package for $250. It was the standard $200 game console, plus the package with the sports equipment (club, racquet, bat) and game of your choice. Of course, they did not have it!

Seems like the Wii is quite an monetary investment. I have never had a computer game since an Atari at my parent's house 25 years ago. Looks like I could easily spend at least $400 to get started. True?

Stay away from bundles offering 3rd party accessories and poor selling games. While $250 may seem like a great price, you are paying an extra $50 for basically junk.

If you are interested in the Wii for "activity/fitness" then all you need is the Wii itself and the Wii Fit Plus. That is $300 and it's doubtful you will see either of these discounted. What you may see, as I mentioned in a previous post, are these two items offered together and including a gift card of some amount from the retailer.

Don't worry about the other games first. Just get the Wii and go from there.

ITA - we got the basic Wii at Costco for 179 and just added what we wanted from there. LOVE WiiFit and Plus. My DD (16) got Dance Dance Revolution and loves it! We got an extra nunchuck and controller which has been really handy when want to play together. Have fun!

Thanks for the recommendations! We have Guitar Hero and Wii Fit. I just don't get Wii Fit! I don't seem to get very "fit" while I'm doing it! Am I doing something wrong or do you just not move much with it?? Is there a better "game" for it? Anybody have Biggest Loser or anything like that? Have you seen a good price for Wii Resort?

Maybe not quite $400 to get started, but probably close depending on what you want to do and who is using it. I really had the most fun playing the games that come with the Wii. Bowling, golf, tennis baseball. I could probably just get the console for $199 and be pretty happy with that for awhile.

My brother is getting my nephew a Wii and doesn't know much about them. I told him they should sell the console for $50, They'd sell a ton of them and people would splurge on the accesories and controls, which is where they probably make all their money anyway.

I would like to get my girls one or two great Wii games. They think they like Toy Story Mania which I believe I've read about here. Does everyone like it - anybody not like it? It seems like there was an animal game people were crazy about - maybe Animal Crossing? What's it about? Any other games, maybe a dance one? Has anybody gotten the Disney Dance game? Any help would be appreciated! BTW, they are 19 and 15. THANKS!!

We have all three of the games you mentioned.

The ones we play most are:
•Mario Party 8
•Wii Fit Plus
•Animal Crossing
•Smash Brothers Super Mario Bros (or something like that)

Fit Plus or Active?

Wii Fit Plus has the balance board.

We just played the New Super Mario Brothers - it was a blast.

We also enjoy playing Rayman's Raving Rabbids when a group of friends is over.

I have it on good authority that our 2 DS's will be getting the new Mario game for Christmas, I was willing to take it for a test drive, but DW already wrapped it.:headache:

I don't think this has anything to do with me playing Guitar Hero until 2 am last year.:lmao:

Of course I just wanted to see if they worked okay, that's all;)

Someone asked me today what the best games are for a family of four to play at the same time - any ideas?? Does the Wii Resort only use the hand held thingy (technical, I know) or a wheel or gun?? So many options, so many questions!!

One that I really like and has appealed to a wide age range - 6 year old, DD who is 20 and me( lets jsut say over 40)
Lego Indiana Jones Part one and two
Really cute game play, fairly easy to learn and a lot of fun!!!!!
