Things you've been given, are giving, or want someone to give you? I'm looking for ideas for:

DH - 49
DS - 29
DGS - 9

I am at a loss. The gifts are finished...now I need to fill the stockings. Thanks so much!

My favorite things to give AND recieve in stockings are toothbrushes, lotions, deodorant, perfume/cologne, candy, pez dispensers, scratch off lotto tickets, new gloves etc

I was at a loss too last year, so I picked up some nice candy I knew my family would enjoy. Not the healthiest choice, but budget friendly and they enjoyed it. (It's okay on a holiday anyway, right?) I also like to do cheap gift cards ($10 or less, to like Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks or something like that.)

cheap gloves, funny socks, gold coin dollars, $2 bills, pokemon cards

For your grandson - in the Christmas section of Target they had some mini Star Wars lego sets for $3.99. There were 3 different ones - I bought them for my boys and I'm going to stick the 3rd in DH's stocking.

Thank you! I'm going to Target tomorrow. I'll definitely grab this! :cool1:

Great ideas, everyone!

Whoopie cushions are a tradition here along with some special chocolate candy from a local chocolate shop. I also put toothbrushes and somtimes toothpaste. This year I have orange and black slinkys I bought them when they clearanced them out for halloween.LOL Small playing cards, paddle and ball, book light will also go in the stockings.

I think I got the idea from here but I am going to buy some small cereal boxes/cups with their favorite cereal that I usually ban(marshmallow or choc. cereal). They will get a kick out of that since I only let them eat it when on vacation. :)

Some other things that I put in last year.....nose whistle and sooner schooner hat. I like threads like this because it always gives me ideas!!

For my husband I usually get him some razor refills (when the hell did they get so expensive anyways??), some gum & candy...other good things would be USB thumb drives, memory cards, nice pens...

For your grandson pez is always great, and I saw they had some small bags of lego at Toys R Us this year.

In addition to candy and small toys, Santa always leaves the children in our family a small lump of coal, and the males ALL get an onion and the females a potato. (I don't know where the tradition came from.) We've had some fun with this over the years...as a teen I put a chocolate-covered onion in DDad's stocking, and last year everyone one in the house got either tiny onions or baby potatoes. Our boys think Santa does it as a reminder that while they may have been good and received presents, they also have some things to work on! Their reactions are hilarious as they both HATE onions! :rotfl:

My DH got razor refills in his stocking last year too! DH also loves altoids and sugar free gum.

Target also has some great things in the dollar spot. I got a huge peppermint cane, some chocolate money coins in a mesh sack, little chocolate Santas, small slinkys (!), I haven't seen those things in years! I bought all sorts of things there.

I plan to get Chuck E. Cheese coins, comic books, life saver Christmas books, maybe some GC to the movies, McD's and such too.

This year, with kids in their own homes and with young families, I have added things like a pizza kit and mac and cheese, and other nonperishable, easily wrapped items. I also every year make their "stocking" from santa out of a towel that I just baste with huge stitches along each side (so it is easy to remove), and then gather it together at the top with a string of ribbon. They all look forward every year to getting a new towel, always a treat. I also have a rubber stamp that says "santa likes me best"...when I make the tag for each present, I don't ink up the "me" and then I fill in the blank space with the kids name.....they love "fighting" over who santa Really likes best.......the towels and tags have really turned into a fun tradition.

For adults, fast-food or Starbucks gift cards in the amount of a lunch or cup of coffee (3-6$).

In our house, Santa always fills the stockings with candy! Usually the Lindt chocolate santa and snowman, pex, hershey kiss filled candy cane, flavored candy canes (spongebob, nick jr, etc), special gum and other goodies like chocolate covered gummy bears that they never get. Also, each child gets a christmas flavored bottle of soda (target sells them) and this is a big hit, b/c they are not allowed to drink soda except on their birthdays!:goodvibes

The kiddies know that Santa fills their stockings and DH and I fill each other's. So DH always gets chocolate covered cherries (he loves those) and a bottle of Pindar Blueberry port wine to enjoy with his holiday chocolate. My stocking usually has a book or cd in it, along with a starbucks gift card.

I usually try to do a theme for Dh's stocking, like one year I got him an authentic football jersey for his favorite team so in his stocking I put a magnetic bumper sticker, flag and keychain for that team (plus some candy and beef jerky). This year he's getting an itouch so I've gotten him a case, car charger and itunes gc, I'm not sure what else I'll go with.

My boys around that age are getting: a hot wheels car, a bakugan toy (you could do cards, that would be cheaper), a bottle of root beer from Cracker Barrel, new toothbrush, McDonald's GC (they love paying for themselves) and something personal to them such as my 10yo DS loves camping and scouts so he's getting a crank flashlight, my 8yo is getting a Flip Trix bike. In the past I've also put in tech decks, music cd's, markers, personalized bowling towels (the year they started bowling leagues) and travel games.

In my stocking you can't go wrong with chocolate, lol, I would be happy if it was filled with it. In dh's one year I put a pancake flipper, if you have someone who likes to cook you could do that for them (any utensil that they might not have or need a new one). Books are good, a deck of cards, bath and body works items, a bath sponge thingy (pouf I think they're called, I always need a new one of those). Oh, and chapstick, that's always appreciated in the winter.

Thanks everyone! You've all given me great ideas, and helped me out so very much! :cool1:

My 2 DS's and Dh's stockings ALWAYS have new socks and underwear, a chocolate orange, GUM, GUM, GUM oh yeah did I mention GUM, a Subway gift card and a Gift Card to other restaurants that the kids hang out at after school.

Ok, here is a totally dumb question....but I'm clueless! I keep hearing about chocolate oranges here, and on another thread and its got me curious.....
What is this? Who makes it, and were can I look for one? I like this idea in lieu of a real orange!
