Do you have any apps for your iphone that you feel you could just not live without? If so, please share them and let us know if it was free or a charge. I just got Review of the Day. Gives a book review daily, it was free.

I am so glad you started this thread! I just got my first iphone. Actually it was a hand me down from my daughter's boyfriend, but I'll take it! I have no idea about what are good apps.

I did the free WDW wait time app. I don't have a trip planned and probably wont go back for at least a year or two, but kinda fun to check!

I have a Droid but many of the apps are the same or similar. I use my Weatherbug app ALL the time. I also have a few games to pass the time. I have been using the Nook and Kindle apps to read books. This is GREAT, especially waiting for kids at the dentist, dr, etc. :thumbsup2

I have the bar code scanner too. I love that one. If you are out shopping you can scan the bar code of something and it checks the prices at nearby stores :thumbsup2.

My most favorite app is Pandora, customized music. I use it in my car instead of any other music options. I am hooked on Angry Birds. My family and I have constant games of Words with Friends.

I agree about Pandora. Awesome! And Kindle.

Also, I like the keyring app. You scan all the bar codes from all those little key tags, then you just hold your phone for the check out person to scan the barcode from that. My keychain is naked for the first time in years!

Around Me has proven really useful.

These were all free. A couple of paid apps I like are Balance Pro, which helps me keep up with my budget, RunKeeper Pro, which uses the GPS feature in the phone to track me as I run, and Christmas List, which tracks all my Christmas shopping and keeps up with my budget for that.

I will have to look at that keyring app! Thanks for sharing!

The one I probably use the most often (daily, if not several times a day) is Hipstamatic, a camera app. It tends to help make even boring pics look good, so I love it. :)

Yes, the sunsets in FL are gorgeous just about every night, but "normal" photos don't come out looking like this:

Others I use quite a bit are the WDW Times Guide (takes the place of the paper Times Guides you can get at the front of every park)...since I'm local now, I use it constantly to plan which park to swing over to for a couple of hours at night after work, etc. The WDW Dining app contains a list of every restaurant on property, broken down by location (including resort restaurants and DTD), and lists complete menus, pricing, and dress codes (if applicable) for each place. You can mark specific restaurants as favorites and access them quickly. It's really a treasure trove of info!

I also like Photoshop Mobile, which is good for quick photo editing on the go (cropping and rotating, simple stuff like that). The Walgreens, Target, Publix, and Best Buy apps are all nice for both finding local stores (and their hours) and checking out the weekly ads.

Toy Story Midway Mania is remarkably similar to the ride (and Wii game) and is ridiculously addictive. It costs something like $4.99, maybe, but is totally worth it, IMO.

If you have DirecTV, you can use their free app to program your DVR from anywhere, which is AWESOME. There've been so many times I've been out and about and remembered something that I had wanted to record but forgot about, and I could take care of it from where I was.

If you love live music, iConcertCal is great. You let it access your location, and it can tell you who all will be playing in the area over the next several months. You can also enter different cities and check out who's going there, as well, and from within the app you can buy tickets and get directions to venues (something that came in very handy when a friend and I were bumbling around downtown Houston a year ago after driving all night from Nashville). Oh, and I forgot--it automatically scans your iTunes library and saves those artists as ones you'd be interested in, so they're given priority in the listings of upcoming shows.

WhoCalled is free, if I remember correctly, and lets you enter a number that's called you and will tell you to whom it's registered.

Shazam is also free, I believe, and will identify music that's playing around you. Like if a song comes on in the car and you know you know who sings it but can't remember and it's just KILLING you, you can launch Shazam, hold up the phone in the direction of the speaker, and it'll listen to the song and then spit back the identifying info at you. It still seems like there must be magic or witchcraft or something involved with this one that allows it to work and be accurate constantly, but I love it! My mom always thought the hype about the iPhone was a load of hooey, but the first time I demonstrated Shazam to her, she was like, "Oh, man, that's COOL!"

I almost hate to say this but Fragger, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds, Flashlight ,Talking Tom and idemolished.

I told my husband that the most stupid thing in the world is people who are always playing games on their phone. I just wanted a phone to talk on and text. Well he talked me into the iphone and I love it.

I use Pandora quite a bit when traveling and running, and I found one earlier this month called WDW Countdown which the kids love also. My kids also like the one called Cut the Rope.

Well, I could probably live without it, but I'm enjoying PlayoffTicker2010 for my NFL addiction. I'm not sure how they came up with that name, but it's pretty great just for following all the scores and getting predictions on upcoming games.

oooh, you just gave me an idea on how to surprise my 12 year old DD and her best friend on xmas morning. Her mom and I are surprising them with a girls trip to Disney and we can put that app on their ipods and surprise them that way on xmas morning :cool1:

That is a great idea, I wish I would have thought of showing my son the countdown instead of telling him. That would have been a better surprise.

Bump (allows you to send info to other iphone users if you are with them)
Shazam (helps you find the name of whatevery song you are listening too)
Around me (tells you places that are near by such as coffee houses, gas stations etc)
Footsteps (a pedometer which I fully intend to use at Disney)
Touring plans has an app if you are a subscriber
Bing - (you can say anything into it will do a quick search for you)
Kindle App (download book to read on your iphone)
Countless kids games

...just to name a few!

Great suggestions! I just added several of the apps above and I am definitely looking forward to cleaning off my keychain!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a forum app?

ANGRY BIRDS - Its addictave! I heard they came out with a new version recently- will be flying on 11/2, PERFECt way to kill time on a flight!

If you love Words with Friends (Scrabble), then you might also love SpellStacker (Upwords)-letters can be stacked to change words, and you can play with friends and family.

DH and I have been playing Words with Friends almost every evening. We sit in the living room together and play it with our phones......sickening I know :). I just got Cut the Rope tonight.

I am a fan of chicktionary. But just got angry birds and I can see how that could be addictive!

If you love apps, try the appshopper. I've gotten a ton of new apps and it updates all the time. Best one I've seen yet.
