For those of you who use AAA to book your vacations...
I have been using the same TA for years, mainly for cruises. She also booked us this recent trip at Disney. However, I know that AAA gives some great discounts off of resorts on property. We would definitely stay on property again with the dining plan again, for us we feel it is the way to go and we really enjoyed our trip at Pop Century.

How has your experience with AAA been? How significant are the discounts? Can you give me some specific numbers if you don't mind? We paid $1700 for 5 nights at Pop, for the 4 of us (DH and I, DS3 and DS1) with a 5-day base ticket and the regular DDP. Thought it was a great deal until I found out we did NOT get the free 5 x 7 with the photopass, nor did we get the Planet Hollywood certificate or the keepsake Disney luggage tag. I was a bit angry at this since these are some of the things listed in the Magic your way plus dining package.

Does AAA give the same things Disney does? Could I have paid a lot less for our trip with AAA? I would like to know for next time. We are currently not AAA members but would become members if the savings was that significant. We went July 13-18th. And we always travel in July or August (we're teachers). I would like to do a longer Disney trip next time (7 or 8 nights on property after 3 nights off property to go to Universal and Sea World), but we are not going for another 3 years...but still trying to look into AAA! Thanks!

if I remember right we saved about $300 thru AAA

I've used AAA for our last three vacations in a row, and we generally save about $400 off 8 nights at the Polynesian.

Here's a link explaining the AAA discounts you can get. They vary depending on the resort and season in which you go. http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html#AAA

The percentage is off of the hotel, so if you're staying in a value, you'll save much less than if you're staying at a deluxe.

AAA also gives a few perks for people who book packages including a special storytime session with a character in MK, preferred parking, a shopping discount card for DTD, the 5x7 Photopass print, and maybe a few other things I'm forgetting.

You probably should go over to the Codes board (under Resorts) because lots of people pose AAA questions there.

we stayed at all star movies from 12-15-07 to 12-26-07. we had park hopper tic's and ddp for duration of stay

We're booked at POP for 6 nights in October with AAA. We are getting base park tickets for 6 days, DDP. We have 2 adults, 12 yr old, and 8 yr old. We saved a little over $200 on our package by booking with AAA.

We booked through AAA this time for our upcoming trip in December. For 6 nights/7 days, 6 day hopper, staying at Pop, with the basic dining plan ran us $2206. We have (according to Disney, 3 adults and one junior.) We saved about $200 plus the little perks that AAA throws in.

I also have my AAA agent looking for additional discount codes, and I am, too. With the value resorts, you get the most percentage off - like 20% off the regular rates. The ticket prices were a bit cheaper, too, and the quoted price includes tax, whereas on the Disney site, tax is additional.

AAA is great. We are going in Sept and would get there the day after free dining. When it was offered our agent pulled our file, and called us up. We added the extra day to the begining of our stay and are paying $40 less than before. We originally were saving 20% off room (they don't discount tickets) plus the extras but I don't know what it is now with the free dining.

and for each of the 6 rooms we saved 20% and got all the additional perks for each room (the preferred parking, 5x7 pix, planet hollywood food discount of $15, free planet hollywood souvie, story time, luggage tags(one for each of us), minigolf, sea racer rental, etc. and the fact that the quoted price includes tax makes a big difference when comparing other agents rates - most of the other quotes we received did not include tax and they were not forthcoming with that info. we have reservations for 6 nights and 7 day base tickets and the basic ddp and the rate for two adults in one room (ASMusic) was 1414, for three adults in a room 1896, and for two adults and one child 1689.
