Okay, so this has been one crazy year.

It's been wonderful and it's been devastating all at the same time. As I sat in my living room tonight, watching the lights twinkle on my Christmas tree (yes, it's already up :goodvibes ) and watched my kids playing together so sweetly (for a change :goodvibes ) I was almost moved to tears just thinking about how blessed I really am. This year has really made a LOT of people reevaluate what is really important and treasure those closest to them that much more. So I thought this would be the perfect thread to start here as Thanksgiving approaches and we all take the time to reflect about what we are most thankful for.

Soooo. let's hear it. What are you most thankful for this year? Let's do maybe top three? Okay, here's mine:

1. Of course, my family. I have two beautiful, healthy children who are the light of my life, and a wonderful husband to share it all with. :lovestruc

2. The fact that our home and our family was spared during Hurricane Katrina. (This could start an I'm thankful for...tangent, including things like "I'm thankful for all my dirty clothes that need to be washed, etc. so I'll just leave it at that.)

3. I'm thankful for volunteers who selflessly give so much of themselves to those who have so little. :love1:

Everybody have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!!! :flower:

I'm thankful for the quality time I got to spend with my mother before she passed away in May.

I'm thankful for my father's good health, and that he is adjusting as well as could be expected, after losing the love of his life and his partner for 50 years.

And I'm especially thankful for my wonderful husband, my three children, and my extended family and friends who have been so supportive of me during a very difficult year.

1. I am thankful for DH, my two great kids, and my extended family on both sides.

2. I am thankful to be back in Houston with our friends and family.

3. I am thankful that this is my Dad's 9th Thanksgiving since his heart transplant (the day before Thanksgiving 9 years ago), and that he is still healthy and has been here for everything that has happened in these last nine years.

1. My family-especially my awesome wife. I don't know where I'd be without her...
2. I am thankful that we are blessed with a pregnancy.
3. Everything else.

I am so thankful for my family. My dh who works his butt off every day, leaving well before I get out of bed, never complaining, coming home after dark, just to watch me clip coupons and cancel his cable, so that we can afford for me to stay home with ds. I am thankful for the last 7 months, staying home with ds, watching him grow, waking up to his beautiful face every morning saying 'hi, mommy!'. I am thankful for this new little life that we are eagerly awaiting. I am thankful for our new home, while not a castle by any means, a beautiful affordable home that will work for us for many years to come. I am thankful that we are all (relatively) healthy, we love each other, and while I get bored occasionally, there is no place that I would rather be.

I am thankful for my DH and kids, and that my parents are still alive and in good health. I am thankful for having such great friends. I am thankful for having a job that I really enjoy. I am thankful for my good health. I am thankful that I live in a place where people still really care about each other, and they don't sweat the small stuff.

1. Being able to travel to WDW and Disneyland
2. My parents
3. My best friends
4. My new friend. I used to hate her back in high school but we're super good friends now. :goodvibes
5. That my health isn't as bad as it used to be. My asthma is starting to go away and my kidneys are getting better.
6. and most importantly...I'm thankful for Italian men.

I am thankful for Jonathan, Steve and Kenny D. and every other young man and woman serving overseas. May God Bless them and bring them home safe.

I am thankful for
1)those 4 great guys in my life, DH and 3 DSs
2)the easy adjustment we've all made to life in our new place
3)the great, wonderful, awesome friends(and family)I have now scattered all over the world!!!
4)all of the amazing travel we've been able to do

I'm thankful the wonderful man I share my life with.

I'm thankful that we have a home that is paid for.

I'm thankful for the friends we have - many we have met here on the DIS.

I'm thankful that we have our jobs and enough disposable income that we can enjoy our trips to WDW and our cruises.

I'm also thankful for our health. I've had some challenges this year but I'm coping with them and working on improving them.

Because of health and depression issues, I haven't been feeling too thankful for anything lately, but I am definitely thankful for my DH and kids. Without them, I don't know what I'd do. :goodvibes

1. I'm thankful my dh's surgery was successful last summer!
2. I'm thankful that I have to good kids, the second one is challenging, but he has a good heart.
3. I'm thankful we all have our health.
4. I'm thankful that we have lost no members of our family (either side) in the past year.
5. I'm thankful my husband and I both have good, stable jobs.
6. I'm thankful my Mom and my Aunt are coming here to have Thanksgiving with us.
7. I'm thankful that we are leaving Wednesday to make some family memories in WDW. We desperately need this vacation- some time together to have fun and not worry about whose socks are on the bathroom floor or who left the attic light on or who left daddy's staple gun in the backyard to get run over by the lawnmower..... it wasn't ME!

1. I am thankful for my 2 sweet boys and my wonderful husband :cloud9:

2. I am thankful that we will be moving into our new home just in time for Christmas

3. I am thankful for my 2 closest girlfriends. We have been there for each other through so many difficult things. I don't know what I'd do without them

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving! :goodvibes

Got one more to add:

I'm thankful that we are not having Thanksgiving dinner at my house this year. No crazy mad cleaning for me today. Woohoo!!! :teeth:

I'm thankful for more than just 1 thing, so here are somethings Im thankful for:

1. Katelyn and Hayley (DD's)
2. Tim (DH)
3. my mother for always being there for me
4. my sister's
5. to be alive
6. to be loved

For my husband's safe return from Iraq. I have so much to be thankful for in my life: healthy, happy children, a nice home, friends and family that I love and who love me back, but him coming home safely and in time for the holidays is the answer to many, many prayers

How awesome. Have a great Thanksgiving with your man!!! :flower:

1. That my husband has managed to stay safe and alive in Iraq. He's been there since January. He has 47 days left. :hourglass

2. That we welcomed a healthy and happy (and cute) baby girl into our family in March.

3. That myself and my children have remained healthy, safe and emotionally sound with DH gone for so long.

4.To live in such a wonderful, free country!

5.That my parents were able to finally move to Oregon and be close by.

6. that I got to go to WDW for free, courtesy of my parents! :teeth:

1. My mom and sister, the two most amazing people on this earth
2. my home
3. being able to go to college, without racking up huge amounts of debt
4. my friends, especially my best friend; they're all amazing
5. no big family challenges this year
6. being able to live in a place not prone to natural disasters. Never before has it been more obvious just how safe we are here, compared to other parts of the nation, world, and even other parts of my state, that are still picking up their lives

What a great thread!

1) I am extremely thankful for having been blessed with yet another healthy wonderful child this year.

2) I am thankful that my family, especially my 3 other children, have handled our moving to Iceland so well and that they have adjusted so well, far away from their old home and friends.

3) I am very thankful for the fact that I have such wonderful grandparents, still in full health. Having them here makes it so much easier for me to move back to my home country, considering that my mother died 3 years ago, and isn´t here for us anymore.

Of course I am also thankful for so many other wonderful things in my life. My DH with whom I share a wonderful love that continues to grow every year, the fact that we all get to celebrate yet another birthday (something I never take for granted after my mother died suddenly at 50), our health, and that we are so privileged to have been born in the "richer" part of the world, far away from war and misery.
Furthermore, I am thankful that my father has found a new companion. A wonderful woman, whom I hope he will share many years with. Seeing him so lonely and sad in the past few years has broken my heart.
