I'm finally getting around to reading U is For Undertow by Sue Grafton. I've had it for a few weeks but have been too busy to sit down and read (and if I try to read before bed, I fall asleep!)

I bought that with one of my giftcards. I never read any of her books, but thought I would give it a try.

I am on the last 75 pages of The Lost Symbol, finally.

I just started reading The Dome by Stephen King. I was looking for a good, LONG book, and once again S.K. came to my rescue. It's a real page-turner, if you're fond of lots of details and tons of characters (as I am)! One thing, which I hope wasn't/isn't a spoiler for me and others: in an interview, S.K. said he originally named the book The Cannibals. :scared1: I can't wait to get my kitchen done for the night so I can get reading!

I have been reading Atlas Shrugged for some time now.
I am on page 1033 of 1088 pages (or somewhere around there).

A very loooooooooong book, but so worth it. Tiny print too. Good thing my Zenni Optical new glasses came in!:goodvibes

I'm reading The Pact by Jodi Picoult. I go through phases where I'll read 1 or 2of her books, then I won't want to read her books for a long time. I just finished Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz and re-reading A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. Really want to read The Dome by Stephen King.

I was going to read the 2nd Sookie Stackhouse novel but ended up reading the book CROSS by James Patterson. I can't put it down. I space his novels out cause they are my favorites.

I haven't posted on here in quite awhile. I did read back a few pages and decided The Book Thief will most likely be my next book. I'm intrigued by your comments.

The last few books I've read are Water For Elephants which was very interesting and was recommended by a good friend and Lisey's Story by Stephen King. The latter was a real page turner and although had quite a bit of King's "weirdness" (for lack of a better word), I found it to be an incredibly powerful love story too.

Right now I'm reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I LOVE the classics and for some reason have never gotten around to reading this one. Heathcliff is interesting...to say the least.

I've read alot of King's stuff and my dh might be his biggest fan. I was supposed to read this one as soon as my husband got finished with it, but my teenage son expressed interest in it and he is now reading it. Looks like I need to take a ticket and get in line.

I finished Under the Dome a couple of weeks ago. The end was a wee bit of a letdown, but overall I enjoyed it. After that I read a collection of his short stories called After the Sunset. Very good.

Next up for me is That Old Cape Music, by Richard Russo. I am also reading The Omnivore's Dilemna, by Michael Pollan, but that one is slow going for me. I've been picking it up and reading a bit at a time for a couple of months.

Just finished Water For Elephants. Now I am reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime

Just finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime which was strange and a little dry.

Now I'm going to start Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister

I just finished Best Friends Forever and Firefly Lane.

It is so weird how they are kind of similar but I liked Firefly Lane much better.

I didn't really like Best Friends Forever at all.

I, Alex Cross and I just finished Alex Cross's Trial both by Patterson.

Trial was different and it took me a few chapters to get into it, not about Alex at all but about a family story he's been told and he writes a book about it. Only a few chapters into I, Alex Cross so we'll see how it goes.

Next up is Kingdom Keeper's II, DD is finishing it up now and is dying for me to read it so we can talk about it. Anything to get an almost 11 yo to read, right?:thumbsup2

I finished Firefly Lane last night.

This is a book that I'd never have picked up without your recommendations. I loved it. It is the first book that made me cry in years. I think the last one was Susanne's Diary for Nicholas when the dog died. I'm not a cryer when I watch movies or read books.

I liked how the author brought in so much of the world's events over the years. It shows that so much of our lives are defined by the world around us whether it's directly or indirectly.

I finished Firefly Lane last night.
I also just finished this book based on the comments on this thread. It is not a book I would normally choose on my own and I am so glad I read it. I am going to start The Help tonight.

Angelhalo- I wrote a paper on Curious Inicident last semester. It was strange, but I really liked it. It was interesting to see how analytical Christopher looked at the world, applying reason and logic to everything. I did like Confessions- neat twist. I won't say more. I couldn't get into anymore of his books after that. I don't know why. I loved Wicked and the follow-up, but I couldn't get into A Lion Among Men.

I am giving up on Under the Dome for now. I am too busy and need something light (literally and figuratively) and portable.

I loved this book!!!!! I also cried & cried over the events at the end.

I'm reading The Help right now & am really enjoying it. It sucked me in right from the beginning! Hope you enjoy it too.

I picked up The Wednesday Sisters yesterday on the recommendation of a friend. Hopefully, it will be a good one, although I probably won't get to read it for a while because my "to read" list is so long.

I tried to get Prayers for Sale by Sandra Dallas yesterday because of someone's recommendation on here, but it won't be at Borders until Tuesday. Guess I'll have to go back. Maybe I'll have another coupon by then!

"The Murderer's Daughters" by Randy Susan Meyers...easy read so far.:thumbsup2
