I wish I could say that the next book in the Hunger Game series was coming out soon but I can't, Catching Fire came out on September 1. I love that series, another book that I read this summer that my DS really liked too was The Forest of Hands and Teeth, I really enjoyed it too.

I finished "Book of a Thousand Days", by Shannon Hale. It was very good!

I picked up a book my dad loaned me yesterday, "Ella Minnow Pea". I read it in one day! What a treasure!!! This book takes place on the fictional island of Nollop, named for Nevin Nollop who created the sentence, "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog", the sentence that uses all the letters of the alphabet. The sentence is written in tiles over a statue of Nollop, and as the tiles fall, the town council decides it's a sign from Nollop that that letter is no longer to be used. It was a delightful read!!!

Next up is "Cry the Beloved Country," and then "Their Eyes Were Watching God." Not exactly light reading, huh?

I have The Forest of Hands and Teeth on my list. I hope my ds likes it. I am having a hard time getting my second ds hooked on reading.

Have you tried the Percy Jackson novels by Rick Riordan? My DH and I read them because our son totally raved about them. He is 13 and he started reading them when he was 12, they sucked him in. Another series he enjoyed was the Maximum Ride books by James Patterson, which I also read and they sucked us all in. I hope that you can get your son interested.

Thanks!! I'll have to check out those books.

I'm trying to complete the A to Z Challenge, where I read a book starting with every letter of the alphabet. I'm on X which means I am reading X Files; Ground Zero. *sigh* Not at all what I normally read but I was desperate for an "X" book. I'm also reading Orlando by Virginia Woolf which is also out of my comfort zone but it's my "O" book.

Currently reading "Enemies & Allies" by Kevin J. Anderson. It's about Superman and Batman, both thinking the other working for Lex Luthor. Takes place during the late 50s, during the Cold War.

I was going to read this 1 as I love Batman & Superman graphic novels when they team up. But when I saw his name on the cover I dropped it. He so very nearly ruined the Star Was book universe I will NEVER touch another 1 of his books.

1. "True Compass" by Edward Kennedy.
2. "The Family" by Jeff Sharlet. This is very scary. Its about a secret Christian Fundamentalism group "Family" that controls both Democrats and Republicans.
3. "Summer of The Apocalypse" by James Van Pelt. Science Fiction at its finest.:)
4. A Distant Mirror "The Calamitous 14th Century" by Barbara W. Tuchman. Just fabulous history!
5. "Way of the Wolf" by E.E. Knight. This is book 1 of The Vampire Earth series. Delicious Sci. Fi.;)

Boy I love to read! So many books, so little time.

Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. This is the last Twilight book and I can't put it down:eek:. Unfortunately my trip to the world is in 2 days and I have to pack!!!:sad2:

I kind of working my way through the Lost Symbol. I'm trying to go slow so I don't miss any important details.

I kind of made a deal with myself a couple of months ago that I would start reading every NY Times #1 Fiction Bestseller. This week, I'm kind of regretting that right now but I guess I'll be starting some Carpathian Paranormal Romance soon. LOL

I'm wondering if I'll be totally lost though, since I haven't read any of the others.

I just finished reading the Shopaholic series. So much fun!

Now I'm reading a book called Schooled. I just started it but all quotes from reviewers say it's kind of like Gossip Girl but from the teacher's perspective. It's especially intriguing since I'm a teacher!

It took me forever to finish, Elephants can remember, even though it was very good! I enjoyed it when I could. Back to school and all that goes with it chipped away at my reading time.

I just started, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. I really like Fanny Flag's style. I'm loving the book already. Thanks to those that recommended it! :)

Just finished last Night

Area 7 by Matthew Reilly

It is a non-stop action adventure book that starts from the begining and does not end to the final page. I had a hard time putting it down!!

Last night I finished The Lost Symbol. It was good and I recommend it. The thing that I love about Dan Brown's books is all the history. The plots I can take or leave and I figured this one out very quickly.

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I decided to read it after I watched the movie, pretty different from the movie but still good!

I finished the Shopaholic series a little while ago and found out that Sophie Kinsella is going to do another book for the series! :lovestruc also I have read the latest book "Twenties Girl" and really liked it.

I went book shopping online so I got myself some books, but while I am waiting for them I am re-reading Knights by Laura Lael Miller.
