I just finished 'Hotel on the Corner of Bitter & Sweet' by John Ford (great & heart-wrenching). I now have choices as to what to read next. They are:

-Pride & Prejudice & Zombies
-The River at the Center of the World: A Journey up the Yangtze (non-fiction)
-Drood by Dan Simmons
-The Secret of the Great Pyramid (non-fiction)

I may pick 1 for work & 1 for home.

I'm reading "Vision in White" by Nora Roberts :goodvibes

This book is like a return to her earlier works before mysteries and scifi became such a large part of the stories. A nice light and easy read :goodvibes

"The Great Deluge - Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, And The Mississippi Gulf Coast" by Douglas Brinkley..

It's a New York Times Bestseller..

Interesting; informative; graphic (at times); heartbreaking; shocking; and at times, very irritating..

Excellent source of information - and many of the "untold" stories..

Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger (author of The Devil Wears Prada )

Next up: Eat, Pray, Love. I know that a lot of you had a hard time with this, but it's been on my "to read" list for a couple of years, now, and I hate to cross anything off without giving it a fair shot.

I have read and re-read that book many times. I LOVE it.

I tried to start The Story of Edgar Sawtelle - am I the only person who couldn't get into this book? I even racked up a couple dollars worth of fines at the library trying to get past the first couple chapters. I normally read quickly and this one kept sitting around the house. I finally took pity on the next person on the waiting list and returned the stupid thing.

I listened to it on cd during my commuting, and I did not enjoy it either. Even at the end, I was like "what?"

I just read the new Harlan Coben, re read Stepenie Meyer's The Host, and am currently readin the new Randy Wayne White.

All are excellent! Harlan Coben writes the kind of mystery thriller you can't put down because you need to know what is going on.

Harlan Coben definitely writes books you can't put down.

I don't have time to really get "into" a book because of finals so I am trying books that I have read before and are a good time killer so a couple of days ago it was Like Water for Chocolate, one of my favorites. The movie has an English dub on youtube, I recommend it. Right now I am reading Amy Tan's The Kitchen God wife which at first I didn't like but I really do now!

Little Pink House...Jeff Benedict

Book is about one woman's historic battle about eminent domain in New London, CT. The Supreme court heard Kelo vs New London in 2005.

(since I am free from my college duties I can read what I want...until the fall 09 semester).

Finished "The Pact", good read.

Last night I started the 3rd in the 5 book series Abram's Daughters by Beverly Lewis, it's called "The Sacrifice", so far I'm enjoying this one the most!
I may have it finished by tonight!

Currently I'm reading Nora Roberts book about Rafe and Jared McKade. Next up is Jodi Picoult's new one I think its' called Handle With Care.

Currently I'm reading Nora Roberts book about Rafe and Jared McKade.

I really like her continuation stories :goodvibes

I just finished the first book in the new Bride Quartet series and found it light hearted and enjoyable read. Ready to pass it on to mom tomorrow:thumbsup2

Just finished the last of Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series, Veil of Midnight. The series is okay, kind of redundant, same phrasing in all, etc.

Finished Dead and Gone, Sookie Stackhouse #9, liked it, need to reread it again.

Looking for something that isn't paranormal romance next!

I finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society over the weekend, which I really enjoyed. I am now reading Water for Elephants.

I just finished Guernsey a few days ago as well. I wasn't expecting it to be anything wonderful, but was pleasantly surprised.

Last night I stayed up and finished Cutting For Stone by Abraham Verghese. I think I need to read it again. I enjoyed it, but I think it needs another reading to get all the details.

I loved both of these books! I was so pleasantly surprised with Guernsey! I didn't expect to like it as much as I did!

Just read Emma Jean Lazarus Fell Out of a Tree (young adult book) and am reading The Good Thief right now. Oh, how I enjoy not being in school right now! I also have The Graveyard Book, Water for Elephants, and Goodnight Nobody.

I am reading Charlie Huston's "Six Bad Things" which is sequel to the very suspenseful, compelling "Caught Stealing" -- edge of my seat. They were actually free Kindle books, so I downloaded them for whenever I might have nothing else at hand to read. Now, I can't put my kindle down. I even sync every time I am done reading for the moment, so that I can continue to read it on my iphone when I am caught in traffic. LOL!
