What Are You Reading Right Now?

I just finished The Constant Princess. It was very enjoyable, but I thought it ended rather abruptly. I have yet to read The Other Boyeln Girl by the same author, but it is on my list.

I started McTeague by Frank Norris. It was first published in 1899 and came highly recommended by a friend. Has anyone else read this?

I too finally broke down and read Twilight. While I understand the fascination with the book, it was not my cup of tea. I found myself rolling my eyes and skipping over pages describing the intense angst of Bella and Edward.
I thought I was the only one thinking this. :rotfl2: I did think that it is a great book for a teenage girl though. :thumbsup2

I finished "Kingdom Keepers II: Disney at Dawn" on Saturday. I enjoyed it a lot. I think I would have liked it even more if I had ever been to Animal Kingdom. I'm a West Coaster, so Disneyland is my home park. I'm really hoping that they'll set one of these books in DL!

I started reading Antonia Fraser's book "Marie Antoinette: The Journey". It's amazing! I'm not really a non-fiction reader, but this one is really good! Very gripping stuff.

I just bought The Other Boyeln Girl from the library tonight. I don't know whether I want to start that or Salem Falls by Jodi Piccoult. I borrowed Jodi's book, so I'll probably start that one so I can return it when it's due.

The Other Boleyn Girl is one of my favorites........Make sure you read the "Queen's Fool" from Philipa Gregory & the Wideache trilogy.

I'm having withdrawal since my Kindle is on the blink! That replacement had better get here tomorrow!

I am rereading the "In Death" series by JD ROBB.....wow is Roarke hot!! Great mindless reading:):)

Started The Hour I First Believed last night by Wally Lamb. Will be taking it to WDW with me tomorrow!!! :cool1:

Twilight was not my favorite either, but I can see how young girls can really enjoy it.

I was really ambivalent about Twilight, but the second book was better, the third was better than the second, and I am about halfway through the fourth right now. I got to a point in the fourth where I am ok with stopping mid-chapter or the like, but until this point I was consumed because it was driving me crazy to find out what happens (almost to the point where I skipped ahead-a big no-no in my own reading code of ethics ;) )

I also read, as a break from vampires-between book 3 and 4, Why Girls are Weird. It was entertaining, and often laugh out loud funny- light and easy read.

One of my faves! I prefer "mindless" reading.... My job is stressful and reading fiction is one of the best ways I can relax :goodvibes

Whew, my replacement Kindle arrived, now back to Haunted by Heather Graham.

Agree the 4th book was just okay....

I don't know that I agree with the "young girls" for the Twighlight series. The first book yes... but the latter books I don't know that I could recommend this to "young" girls :confused3

1st sorry all for the multiple posts.... should have used the multiple quote button :guilty:

Anyways... I am considering purchasing an electronic reading device - possibly a Kindle - not sure yet. What happened to yours? And was it worth the investment? I can buy a lot of books for what one of these costs....

I am currently reading The Hitchhker's Guide to the Galaxy :thumbsup2 I had read the french translation a time ago, but now I believe I am good enough with english to read the original :goodvibes

That is my favorite series ever.
So much brilliant scifi/technolgy humor.

My favorite is the elevators that see into the future so they know what floor to pick people up on.

Yes I agree completely! I truly love everything about this series! Who is your favorite character? For me, I like Zaphod Beeblebrox  In the french version, he has a different name, though, so when I first started reading in english, I was confused....
