The Catcher in the Rye-- it was for a subbing assignment. I figured if the students had to read it, I needed to be familiar with it. I kind of forgot how good it was!

Here's a nonfiction one for you: "They Killed Papa Dead" which is a nonfiction account of the assasination attempts (yes there were other attempts besides the one that killed Lincoln) of Abraham Lincoln. This book also goes into the investigation and manhunt of John Wilkes Booth and his coconspirators. I'm not usually a history buff, but this is a very interesting book.

I am reading this now. It's wonderful! (although I didn't read 700 pages in 2 days ).

I'm just a weird freak of nature-- I can read about 200 pages an hour!

Truth be told the book was also a rapid read at the library (7 day loan). Whenever I get a rapid read book, I sort of challenge myself to see how fast I can read it. Since I can normally read really fast (200 pages + per hour) the rapid read is special OCD thing for me.

I am reading Outlander and am about halfway through. I know I have read it before and maybe a couple of the others, but it was back in highschool (8 or 9 years ago). I like them...I hope they make a movie out of it...although I think I would prefer a mini-series...I'm still waiting for my last Sookie Stackhouse book to come in the mail...I don't think its coming, I may have to file a dispute with half.com tomorrow...and of course I'm reading my law books as well...they are much less interesting.

I'm reading Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach. It's actually pretty good. I have had to put down the book a few times and make a face but it's not as bad I thought it would be.

I loved that book. It's what cemented in my mind the decision to donate my body to science after I die. I'd personally love to be a human crash test dummy but I'd settle for a simple donation to a med school.

I'm reading Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. It is not a book, it is a book. Its interesting & good but not a light or quick read.
Also reading My Sister, my Love by Joyce Carol Oates. Sort of a fictionalized JonBenet Ramsey story told from the perspective of the little girls older brother as an adult looking back.

This was my first Stephanie Plum novel and wow what a fun ride Anyone else read her books? Are the early ones as good as the new ones? I had a hard time putting this one down. Diesel, Ranger, Morelli hmmmm I wonder which one

I read it a couple of years ago, because someone told me it was "Harry Potter for grown ups." I'm glad I read it, but I wouldn't run out and read it again. I think there are better books out there, but if you already have a copy, go for it!
