I will keep that in mind as I read it.

Thanks

Are they all worth reading or are the newest one not as good as the older ones?

I liked the older ones a lot. As the series moved on passed like 8 or 9 I kind of got bored. It may be me, I don't know.

206 Bones since I love the show so giving the novels a shot.

The first novels in the series are so much better. Deja Dead is the one that started everything off and it is soooo good. If you like it, then start at the start and you will see where all the characters are coming from.

I love my kindle (aka My Precious!) and have about 11 pages of books in there. I got it a year ago and still am on the first battery- I end up charging it about once a week. I have in a pinch gone on line with it on a car trip to find an address and look up a menu but usually don't have the Whispernet on unless downloading a new book (and it really takes about 1 minute). I love the option to get a sample of a book to try first because sometimes you read a bit and just "know" it isn't for you despite reviews.

I have the Kindle 1 version; friends have the 2 and seem to really enjoy theirs too. One just took it on a 2 week Hawaiian cruise and saved a lot of luggage space taking hers.:thumbsup2 I also enjoy the print size adjustment availability. I take mine to every appointment I have. I also get alot of classics to have; the older the book the cheaper it is. The entire Bible was about 1 dollar I think. You can search Kindle books by price and look around to get some free and very cheap good books.

Kindle 2 owner chiming in here, I love mine too! Especially the font size adjustment and the sheer size of the thing.

I like that I can download books for free from e equipped libraries on my Sony.

I LOVE my Kindle!

I love my SONY! I have 26 books on there now. Love the library feature too. It is very reliable, read at night in bed, no problems downloading books. Thumbs up! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for your comments. I just placed an order for a new Kindle 2 - can't wait!!!! Hope to have it in time for the new Nora :goodvibes

I don't think I ever got around to reading that one. Is it the next to the last one? If it is, I bought it in hardback and never cracked it. Haven't even downloaded the latest one to my Kindle either :( I hate it cause I loved the early ones! I think seeing them fleshed out on the show ruined it for me :(

The Hollow, by Nora Roberts

Who do you think is better, if you do...Nora or Danielle? I haven't read Danielle in about 2 years and I'm done with Nora's books til her new one comes out. I'm starting to read books I read a LONG time ago now. I really enjoy her.

I'm (re)reading The Phantom Tollbooth. It's really a "children's" book but I love it so much and read it every few years or so.

The author is going to be in Scranton in November for a lecture. I'm not going, and I'll probably regret it because I'll eventually read this series, probably love it, and wish that I'd met the author. I just keep wondering if I'll get much out of the lecture if I haven't read any of the books and I've only seen the TV show once, even though I thought it was good.

I'm reading The Lovely Bones now for my book club. I'm enjoying it so far. I thought it would be far more depressing having heard so many people critique it, but I told my DD that she should read it after me. I think it's an interesting premise that the girl is watching everything from heaven.

Tonight, when I drop my kids off at the library for one of their clubs, I'm going to pick up Heat Wave. This is the book by Richard Castle that they've been discussing on the TV show, Castle. I like that show and figure that it's worth a peek into the book.

I had always loved Danielle Steel, but now I find her books repetitive now. I do still read them as a "fluff" book now & then but I don't run out to buy the newest one.

I never have been a huge fan of Nora Roberts, although I tried numerous books of hers. Not sure why because I know so many readers love her.

I read The Lovely Bones a few years ago. I thought the beginning was very good, but then it dragged for me in the middle.

I also thought it was an interesting premise.

The kids and I are reading this book now. We have been enjoying it. :)

I just finished, Dear John. Very sad but somehow uplifting. Very different from my usual. Glad I read it. Thanks to the poster that recommended it!

Next up, Boomerang Clue, by Agatha Christie.

There are a few books I've read where a theme repeats in Nora's books, as do names of characters. I've seen several first names repeated in different books, but understandable I suppose since most of her characters are of Irish decent. I've seen the names Cilla, Gage, and Eve repeated in her books.

For me, it's not even a name or character being repeated in different books so much as the fact that in Steel's books she just continues to repeat the story, the descriptions of the characters, etc., the turmoil of the characters & their personalities over & over throughout the book...............does that make sense?

I guess I'm getting old...........or maybe finally maturing as a reader after all these years!!! LOL :rotfl:

Ah, no I understand. You're saying within the book itself, it gets old? Yes?

I'm reading this one too! I was afraid it was going to be depressing as well, but decided to give it a shot.

I've got a Sedaris book going as well....Engulfed in Flames (?)- it's the one with the smoking skeleton on the cover. Not sure what to think so far. I was expecting LOL funny, but haven't seen so much yet. Is this actually the better of his releases or should I search out another title?

Yes, within the book she just seems to continually repeat the same things.

She'll tell how a character is very fashionable & describe her outfit & then in the next chapter she'll talk about the character going to dinner & how she is wearing the latest fashions because she is just on the cutting edge of fashion. Then 2 chapters later it describes how the character is off to her job, once again wearing the latest fashions because she has always been a fan of the runway & just loves to fill her closets with fashions from the hottest designers.

I noticed it a few years ago while reading one of her books & now it just stands out to me. It just seems continual through all her books & now that my attention is drawn to it, I don't run out to get her books like I used to.

I still read them, but like I said, I use them as fluff books in between a more intense read. :goodvibes

RUDisney.........are you the poster that read Mudbound?

I just ordered it from Barnes & Noble. My DD had to order a book for school & could get free shipping if you ordered $25 or more, so I got a few books that sounded good from some of the posters on this thread & that was one of them.
