What are you looking forward to?

Wendy, so glad to hear the treatments are completed! Have a wonderful celebration of life at Disneyland!
.

Hi Jackie, well actually my radiation treatments won't be over until the end of August. But we are going to DL in October to celebrate. Thanks for your good wishes! :goodvibes

Have a great time with your DCL DIS meet in September!

I'm looking forward to:

1. Going on the Indiana Jones ride with my son (he wasn't tall enough last year)
2. Taking my daughter on Soarin over California (she wasn't tall enough last year)
3. Mickey's Trick or Treat Party (we've done MNSSHP in WDW, but never this one)
4. Suprising my kids with this unexpected trip!

I'm looking forward to:
~riding Splash Mountain with my little brother who's never been on it before. And seeing him ride the Tea Cups. That's his favorite ride, and he talks about it 24/7.
~going on Toy Story Mania and Nemo for the first time
~having a Dole Whip Float, which I've never had before
~eating at the Blue Bayou. I haven't been there since I was about 5, and I can't wait to go back.
~staying at the DLH in a Mickey-themed room. I haven't been to the DLH since I was little as well.
~seeing the castle and walking down Main Street again, and probably getting a bit choked up!
~discovering new things in the parks that I had no idea about, thanks to the DIS!
~going on my favorite rides again: California Screamin', TOT, Splash, Space, BTMR, Grizzly River Run, Soarin', Indy, and the Matterhorn.

Trick or Treating with my kids at DCA
Checking out the Pirates upgrades
and best of all will be seeing the lagoon full of water again :D

We are going again in December....

1. Staying the the Grand Californian and seeing the lobby all decked out for the holidays. Drinking hot chocolate by the big fireplace, while listening to the pianist playing Xmas songs.

2. Watching the carolers again (they were a highlight last year!):
http://youtube.com/watch?v=fFZBeov6ojE

3. Watching the Holiday parade, the snow, and the castle light up!:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=GkDEfue5mp0

4. Seeing the newly re-opened "It's a small world" ride! I love the holiday version of that ride, and I can't wait to see the changes they have made to it.

5. The Haunted Mansion decked out with Jack! This is the only time of year that my little one is not afraid to go on it, and she actually enjoys herself.

7. Taking the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour". Last year we took the Christmas Tour and it was the best part of our trip, so I am hoping this tour will be great as well.

8. Actually seeing the holiday fireworks this time! Last time it was the old "due to high winds..." 3 nights in a row!

9. Buying an ornament for our tree in that little wooden store near the Jungle Cruise.

10. Admiring all of the holiday decorations in New Orleans Square and Mainstreet. Drinking a peppermint Latte while walking down mainstreet with my husband and kids and taking in all of the Christmas cheer!

EVERYTHING! Skipping down main street...riding all my favorite rides...eating overpriced meals but it being SO worth it because I'm in Disneyland...I'm so excited! :D

Just being there, we haven't been in 3 years. Seeing it at
Christmas for the first time.

Anticipating the flurry of Happy Birthday wishes that DS will get as he wears his first ever birthday pin and sports the special t-shirt that I designed from Disneyshopping.com

Seeing the magic in my 1 year old's eyes as he rides Dumbo and Heimlich and gets to see his "friends" from Mickey House Clubhouse and Little Einsteins live on stage

Eating at Carnation Cafe after getting rained out of our reservation on the last trip (they actually closed the restaurant mid-afternoon!)

Catching DH's eye as we both recite the ghost host's spiel in unison on the last 2 days that the regular HM is open for 2008

Seeing just how excited my DH will get by all the new gadgets in the new Innoventions House

Tigger tails, mickey mouse pretzels, cherry cokes and mickey on a stick ice cream bars

Helping DS pin trade for a perfect pin to comemorate this birthday trip

Watching the artist create a Disney watercolor version of our last name--a gift that DH said that he will buy for our 2 year wedding anniversary that we will have celebrated a month prior to the trip

Finally braving the wet ending to see what all the fuss about Splash Mountain is all about

Relaxing, rejuvenating and remember why I go to work everyday--so that I can afford the trips "home" to where the magic lives
:wizard:

and seeing my son in his halloween costume trick or treating at DCA. nothing beats that!

I'm most looking forward to hanging out with my thirteen-year-old daughter, and riding with her on everything she missed, when she was sick on our trip in March. We are going to ride Space Mt. over and over (because she DID ride that one, and it was the only time during the whole trip I saw her excited and happy) and we'll ride Matterhorn which I missed too, and BTMRR. This time I'm looking forward to seeing Billy Hill, to going to Pirate's Lair, Redwood Challenge, Animation studio, Snow White, and Star Tours. All of which we missed because of taking care of the poor sick DD.

DD13 is at a very typical 13 y.o. stage in her life. She has the fine art of eye-rolling perfected, and is usually found to be standing with her arms crossed in front of her, slouched, and looking bored or annoyed. She's very sensitive and thin-skinned right now. However, if you get her by herself when she's not trying to look cool, she is such a joy. Creative, funny, smart and enthusiastic (when she thinks nobody's looking anyway); and miracle of miracles, she will still confide in me when I take the time to just be still and listen. So I am really looking forward to enjoying this one-on-one time with my beautiful teenage daughter who is trying out her wings, and learning to become her own person.

1. Watching my children and DH experience the magic for the first time! :wizard:
2. The eyes of my little princesses when they meet the big ones. princess: princess:
3. They eyes of my son when he sees Lightning and Mater :teeth:
4. The new pirate ship at HOJO's pirate:
5. Riding Indy for the 1st time (it has been 18 years since I was at DL)
6. Eating at IN-N-Out!!!! :drinking1
7. Becoming a kid again!
8. Using all the DISboard tips and writing a fabulous trip report when we get back! :disrocks:

Two things really stand out for my next visit.

1. Seeing Sleeping Beauty at the El Capitan Theatre
2. Experiencing Toy Story Midway Mania.

Checking out the toy story ride

Getting the dole ice creame and sitting at the tiki room

Driving to sonic's for dinner after the park and eat in the car.

Watching dh dive into a turkey leg

Everyone saying happy birthday to my ds and to get new pictures at the Pat E Cake party since we haven't done a party at disneyland in 3 years.

not being at home.

the holiday parade

getting silhouettes and chalk drawings of the kids this time

and most important to me is seeing the excitement in the face's of my kids.

Seeing and showing my kids the newly refurbished and reopened Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk-Thru!

I am looking forward to helping my DD plan her WEDDING!!!

Planning session, food tasting, CAKE tasting, M & M for the wedding, what can be better!

Ice that cake with TSMM and I'm in heaven! :thumbsup2

First off, avalon451, I hope you and your DD have a WONDERFUL time. I have a teenager myself so I totally know where you are coming from! It's amazing to see the transformation from "typical teen" to just another person caught up in the magic of Disneyland! You know, where a kid can be a kid! oh, and adults get to be kids too!

Now... what am I looking forward to...(it's a long list!)
  • Getting away from home. Yeah! No cooking, no cleaning and no worries for 2 weeks!
  • Arriving at the airport and seeing the kids faces when the LIMO picks us up.
  • Walking across the crosswalk for the first time with the Disneyland sign in view!
  • Getting our NEW annual passes!
  • A week showing our dear friends the park.
  • A second week with just my own family.
  • Taking in all the sights, sounds and smells that remind you that you have arrived at DISNEYLAND!
  • The Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour.
  • Fantasmic priority seating.
  • Lunch at Blue Bayou. Yummy! Creme Brulee!
  • Our first ride of the trip, Pirates!
  • Churros, chocolate covered strawberries, a carmel apple, a frozen chocolate covered banana, a dole whip, carmel corn, candy shop goodies, ice cream, strawberry shortcake, a funnel cake and a white hot chocolate. (as you can tell we have been on a diet for the last 6 months! Thank heavens we will walk every pound back off!)
  • Spending special time with my whole family.
  • Spending special time with just my DS-17 when we go ride the big rides.
  • Spending special time with my DD-8 while the guys ride the big rides.
  • A new family portrait in front of the castle.

  • Hopefully, seeing the Castle Walk Through.
  • Hopefully, riding the Holiday Small World with the new additions. (really hoping for a soft opening)
  • Hopefully, riding the Lilly Belle and trying out all the things I have never done before but think I should try out because I got the ideas on the Disboard!
  • Seeing the castle and park all decked out for the holidays. And SNOW!
  • Walking back to our rooms every night so tired we can barely make it across the street!
