DH and I are having the annual "what's for Easter dinner?" conversation and I was wondering what everyone else will be serving?

We're going to my parents. I'm sure she's making a ham and, I'm bringing mashed potato casserole. Not sure what else, that's between my brothers/SILs. ;) I just didn't want to get stuck bringing a green (yucky) vegetable!

DH, DS & I are going to Lashaway Inn for Easter brunch. The only reservation we could get is 9am so it will be an early morning.

What I'm having is a nervous breakdown. We have over 30 people coming and if this weather doesn't clear up enough to use my sister's deck, we'll all be sitting on top of each other's plates...

Actually....we're doing lamb on the grill, ham, chicken marsala and a ton of other stuff.

We go to my parents house where my mother makes the traditional, ham dinner. I make lasagna and bring that too.

This is one of the first years I'm not doing Easter. Going to my in-laws where I am sure we will have Ham. It's Easter tradition for us.

Speaking of tradition I sure wish they would bring back the WDW Easter Parade on tv!

I will eat whatever DSIL serves. WE are traveling to her home for Easter and it is too far for me to bring anything. (YAY)

I'm not ready to think about it.

My mother is going to make a sprial ham dinner around 1:00 and then later she'll have lasagna.

Ham with cherry glaze
Sweet potatoes casserolle
Green bean casserole
stuffing
biscuits or rolls
cranberry sauce
cherry cheesecake or strawberry shortcake

I buy foods already to chill/ heat serve and eat. It makes things so much easier to buy dessert and bread from the italian bakery, cranberry in a can, precooked ham to be warmed with cherry, frozen green beans that just need to be mixed etc...

We're always outside for Easter so we BBQ for lunch. :) Dinner usually consists of leftover BBQ if we can stuff ourselves any more...which we usually can't!

Ever since my mom passed away, I've done almost all of the holiday meals so this year we planned a trip to WDW. We need to use our points at BWV anyway.

We will be having dinner at Spoodles. We wanted to eat withing walking distance and we're eating at Flying Fish on Good Friday.
I have never been to WDW during peak season so this should be very interesting.

Thankfully, everyone is pitching in. Here's our menu:

Ham & Turkey (from Honey Baked Ham)
Squash Casserole
Broccoli Casserole
Boiled or scalloped potatoes
mac & cheese
homemade bread & rolls
veggie medley

Appetizers: veggies/dip, fruit, probably shrimp cocktail, finger sandwiches

dessert: carrot cake , cheesecake & a low sugar something.

Like I said, thank goodness people are pitching in.

:p

I'll be working on Easter Sunday, but I really don't mind as it gets me out of preparing a big dinner for the family, which would be expected of me if I didn't work that day. :)

So DS will probably go to his girlfriend's mother's and DD will probably go with her DH to his parents' for dinner. My DH will probably come down and have dinner with me at work. :)

I do Christmas dinner every year, so I figure that's enough! :)

Whatever they are serving at the Dolphin Ballroom!!:smooth:

Our family has created a new tradition of getting together for a breakfast meal. Mom will do the ham, eggs, sausage gravy & biscuits, others bring breads, bagels, doughnuts, there's fresh fruit, etc. It's a lot less stress than the "BIG" meal--fewer leftovers for Mom when we all scatter to the wind--and we have all day to visit rather than cooking and cleaning then rushing back home on a Sunday.

I live a fair distance from home, the kids have school the next day, my brother usually has to head to work on Sunday evenings and my sister just goes to bed early because she works very early. We will head home on Saturday a.m. and have a couple of days to share. It has been a good, new tradition for us!

Here's my menu:

Spiral ham
Candied sweet potatos w/marshmallows
Green Bean casserol
Pineapple stuffing - may not sound all that great but it is TREMENDOUS!!! Everyone who has had it loves it! If you'd like the recipe PM me. It is an excellent addition to an easter meal.
Asparagus w/hollendaise (sp?) sauce
Scalloped potatoes
Lime/green grapes jello mold (very good!!)
Homemade potato pan rolls (I can smell them cooking right now)
Deviled eggs/olives/pickles/etc..

Dessert I think I will do a bananna split dessert. Not made with ice cream, its more like a cake. Very rich but good!

Happy Easter everyone!

Normally, we would have spiral ham. But since my in-laws just left to go back to Philly from here, we had our traditional Easter ham dinner with them before they left.

So, we're "hammed out".

I think, since it will be just the 3 of us, we'll do Filet Mignon on the grill, Caesar Salad, and a potato dish. YUM!

:D I'll be serving:

Spiral ham
mashed potatoes
sweet potatoes
squash
turnip and carrots
brocolli with cheese sauce
corn (the only veggie that dh will eat)
rolls

Dessert will be an Easter Bunny cake from Carvel and jello eggs.

My mom, brother and family, and grandparents will be coming over. They were all supposed to come for Christmas but the snow messed that up so I am praying for nice weather!
