DS and I are both giving up sodas - root beer for him, Pepsi for me. I don't know DH's yet, as he wasn't in the car with us when we were talking about it. I'll have to ask him today.
I think I'm going to give up candy this year. Last year I gave up chocolate, but I spent a lot of time sucking on Life Savers, etc, instead of eating a Hershey Kiss. So, this year, no candy.
This year, I'm going to make myself do some form of exercise for at least 15 to 30 minutes a day.
And I'm going to make a concerted effort to clean up my language! I like the monetary fine idea for slip ups. I'll adopt that too and put the money in the poor box. My goal is to have to add money to make a decent donation!
Now if I could just get my cats to give up clawing the furniture for 40 days ...

I am giving up my "bad" attitude... Lately I seem to gravitate to negativity, so I am going to think positive and do better for others... I am sure my family will appreciate my decision.
I am giving up Farmville and Farmtown on Facebook. It has taken over all of my time. My family was so excited when I told them. I really hope I can keep from sneaking!!
I don't really give up anything, except abstain on Fridays and fast of Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. I do plan on getting at least two full grocery orders to donate to the Church food bank.

Our Priest has said that we could try to add something rather than give something up for Lent. he has suggested adding something that would make things better for someone. I think that this is a better fit for my family, the emphasis is on the positive rather than the negative.
Yeah, I made it less than a week...its so not fair that ALL the Easter jelly beans that I love more than anything came out so early this year! Literally right after Xmas! So...I got back on the wagon. I've been good almost a week now. I'm really trying! Argh!
