Hi there. We had this thread last year and I LOVED IT. I got a lot of ideas from it! Hoping to rekindle the ideas for this year.

My DD14 ran a very successful dog business this summer and ebay business and earned over $1500. Heck I should be in that business! LOL. As a result she used her hard earned money to buy BEATS, Ed Sheeran custom guitar and a laptop. Good for her I said ! We are proud of her. However Christmas is going to be a bit of stumper this year.

Looking forward to great replies on ideas for the holidays this year!

I loved this thread too!
Christmas is different for us this year because our big gift is our December trip (we come home on the 23rd). I will still get the kids things, but spend way less than I usually do.
So I am kind of stumped. There was a really good sale at Aeropostale a little while ago and I got dd16 some leggings and long sleeve shirts. She's not into any clothes with logos, but these we plain pieces. The only things she has asked for are clothes, make up and gift cards.
I picked up a $20 Starbucks card.. she loves her Tazo tea:thumbsup2.

I am used to spoiling the kids for Christmas because we really don't buy wants throughout the year. It's a challenge for me to keep the budget at a third of what it usually is. Don't get me wrong.. they would never dare complain, and they are soooo excited for the trip, but *I* am the one having a hard time not buying all kinds of gifts.

Uggg, DD keeps telling me "all I want is...." and keep changing what it is she wants! First it was Demi Lovato tickets, which I was all set to get her 2, until she told me she wants floor seats. Not going to happen. Then all she wanted was a new North Face, which is fine, but she also wants a letter jacket and I really don't want to spend that much on 2 jackets.

I had planned on getting her a new laptop to use now and to take to college in the fall and some odds and ends to take to school with her. New winter boots since she will be walking in the snow more and take kind of thing. She also likes Too Faced make-up and I was going to get her more of that, but at this point who knows. She also knows I am no longer working so that is an issue too.

I love these Christmas threads! Subscribing!

DD is 14 and I always pick up great ideas from here.

I loved this thread last year too! :goodvibes

DD14 has a long list, but I am not sure yet what she is actually going to get. She wants money for clothes so she can shop after Christmas, so we will either give her some cash or gift cards. She wants Dot by Marc Jacobs perfume (and she found some at Costco for $50, so we bought that but she can't have it until Christmas). She also wants the One Direction perfume, iTunes cards, a waterproof Bluetooth speaker for the shower and a nice speaker for her room (she wants Beats or Bose, but I think they are both about $200).

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's ideas, especially the ones that are not a few hundred dollars, or she may only have one thing under the tree! :rotfl2:

I'm just about done shopping for DD13 - I shopped early because I needed to run up charges for a bonus on a new credit card :thumbsup2

Under the tree she is getting:
- iPod Touch 5th generation (her old, old, old one was stolen last year) and a case
- Over the ear headphones
- A bunch of OPI nailpolishes from the Sephora deal
- Floral backpack and tote (she loves the old-fashioned floral prints - I think they look "old ladyish" but she adores them. To each his own I guess! Since I picked them both up on clearance, I'm happy.)
- Converse high tops with a 1-1/2" heel. (I hate these, but they meet my max heel height restriction, so I'll get them. Gotta let them rebel somehow.)
- Regular Converse high tops that have a flag print (she's a Converse gal, if you haven't guessed)
- Sweats from Aeropostale
- A random shirt or two
- Sketch book and drawing pencils
- Something else cheap to be bought with Kohl's cash next week

I've even mostly finished shopping for her stocking stuffers. I put some more-expensive-than-traditional-stocking-stuffer items in her stocking because that's all she opens Christmas morning. We fly to my Mom's for Christmas proper, so we do the under-the-tree gifts the weekend before we leave just to make travelling simpler. But I like her to still have a exciting Christmas morning, so I do a beefed-up stocking. Here's what I have/am planning to get:
- Full size perfume and lotion from Bath and Body Works in a scent she's been wanting
- LSU T-shirt and hat (my alma mater; she's convinced she wants to go there. I of course have other ideas because we live in CA and in-state tuition is MUCH more to my liking)
- Arm band for the new Touch
- Another "fun" case or two for her Touch
- iTunes gift card
- "Countdown clock" to our summer Paris trip for her 8th grade graduation (I found this at prankplace.com - it's perfect!)
- Streetwise map of Paris (love these!)
- A few cell phone charms
- EcoTools makeup brushes (haven't gotten these yet - last year EcoTools had a 50% off sale on Cyber Monday, hoping for the same this year!)
- Fuzzy socks
- EOS lipgloss
- Backscratcher (just a fun Dollar Tree thing)
- Various candies

On her list that will be given to relatives (to buy from or not, but they like to see a list):
- Various makeup, esp. the Naked 2 palletes from Urban Decay (I think the prices are ridiculous, but it's her list)
- More Converse shoes LOL
- "Fashion" Cowboy Boots
- Various pieces of clothing
- More Bath and Body works scents
- Lots of other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting

All my 13 year old is asking for is a galaxy tab2 or 3, gift cards and clothes. Thank you dd for making Christmas easy for me this year! :lmao: Now I'm just sitting around waiting for Black Friday deals to come out.

Just wanted to say if you are looking at getting DD a Bluetooth speaker system, I highly suggest going with Bose. We own several items. We own headphones, bluetooth system and a home surround system. Our DS that is in college also has headphones and the bluetooth system. He originally wanted the Beats bluetooth but came to the conclusion that tne Bose was so much better!

Thank you! We have the Bose wave radio and love the sound quality. I have no experience with Beats, but it is all that seems to be advertised, so I am sure that is why she mentioned it.

We are also doing the same thing. The large present is the trip to Disney in Dec. and we will be cutting back on other gifts. DS and DD both understand and are fine with this. We have already started shopping and have gotten some fantastic deals. We have picked up Ralph Lauren shorts and shirts for DS for college for around 7.00 each at Belk and Dillards. Crazy sale! Found some jeans for DD for 10.00 this weekend. I need to find a good deal on Sperry's for both kids. No such luck yet.

My 14 year old DD asked for a record player for her b-day and she uses it all the time! So I'll be getting a couple of vinyl records for xmas to help build her collection. Amazing the number of new artists releasing on vinyl, easily found on Amazon!

she is a Dr. Who fan and I found some cute little things (note pad, journal) on Amazon as well. And I preordered a Dr. Who Vault book coming later this month.

Last book in the Divergent series.

"Big gift" will be tickets to see Imagine Dragons in concert. Was able to get floor seats and since they are not a HUGH band, tix were "only" $50

She loves Lush bath products but they are pricey so will get a one or two items or a gift assortment.

Ear buds for stocking... she is always losing or breaking them!

And most likely some clothes... keeping an eye out for American Eagle sale.

My dd (almost 16 at Christmas) is getting under the tree:
Iphone and 2 cases for it
The Nightmare Before Christmas Monopoly
The Little Mermaid DVD

For her stocking:
3 (fashion) necklaces
Travel jewelry holder
BBW stuff
make-up
pink usb car and wall charger
candy

So glad others loved the thread as much as I did! My DD14 soon to be 15 loves guitar! she just got the Ed Sheeran custom guitar with her own money and I would love to get her some other stuff associated with Ed Sheeran. Not much of a tshirt with face on it person....any other ideas??

Dd(14) is getting a roku3, a pea coat, a pair of custom chucks, a desk and chair for her room as something else TBD.

So far for my DD (14)
Hair Turby's
Spa Sonic
Handmade blanket for her bed
PSP and a few games
ITunes GC
Domo Socks
Chess Set
LuLu Purse and wallet
Clothes-3 pair Jeggings and 2 Sweaters
still need to get a bookstore GC for her Manga.

DD15 has an archery quiver picked out on Amazon that she was going to buy with her own money, but hasn't asked me to order it yet. If she doesn't, I will get that for Christmas.

I always get the girls a Christmas ornament that reflects their current interests. When they are grown they will have several to decorate their own tree with and remember their childhood's favorite things.

So far my best idea for DD12 is a necklace hanger/organizer.

We have just remodeled and built them closets so I really better not spend much on them this year.

DD (15)--haven't done much yet but this is what I am planning to get--

tickets to Wrestelmania in NOLA (will be getting 4 tickets, one of them will also be her brother's gift)

tickets to Beauty and the Beast in NOLA

jeans from Maurice's (she loves their jeans) and some hoodies

boots--not sure what kind yet, she will have to pick some out that she likes

Bath and Body works lotion and spray

Katy Perry's perfume

New comforter set (already purchased) for her bed

assortment of necklaces and earrings. She likes big earrings and small delicate necklaces; silver with rhinestones.

DD13 is getting a new bike, and probably a bunch of clothes.

I struggle with the clothes aspect b/c dd goes to a private school and has a closet full of clothes that she only wears on weekends or the occasional dress down day so I personally think she has enough.

THis thread has been a lot of help! Here is where I am at so far:

1. Starbucks Gift Card
2. Something for her guitar...maybe an AMP?
3. Smartypig giftcard
4. Sketching stuff
5. Disney and Universal Giftcards (though seems boring gift since our trip isn't until june maybe save them for easter???)
6. the NEW taylor swift perfume. My DH bought her the 1d perfume as a surprise and she loved it...so I think how much perfume does one child need but hey it is Taylor!!!!
7. Guitar picks, earrings from DTD
8. Taylor Keds (from kohls they have the 13 charm on them got them for 30 off and free shipping)
9. Converse tennis with skulls on them...
10. New phone CASE
