What are you getting your DH for Christmas? Need Ideas!

I'm taking my fiance away for a quick weekend in the mountains. We weren't going to exchange but several very difficult "ordeals" have struck us over the last month and a weekend alone, just us, will be good for us. We leave tomorrow night. 2 nights + a sunset sleigh ride in Conway NH. The whole weekend will cost around $500.

I also got him a Bruins long sleeve t shirt but I gave him that already because he was sad he forgot to wear his jersey over the night a game was on and I felt sorry for him so I let him open it.

I think I went way overboard on my DH's Christmas gifts this year. We usually don't buy each other anything for our birthdays. His is in Nov and mine is Feb. So we splurge at Christmas and then we are done for the year! I got him a new flash for his new camera, a new lens, jacket from lands end, jeans, Blu ray player, and some little things too. The only thing I know I got was a Keurig coffee maker. I bought it from him. I work at Kohl's so I got a really awesome deal! I wrapped it up myself too! I also asked for an iphone, and hardwood floors for my dining room, which I won't get either but it was worth a shot!

DH picked out his own Christmas gift last month, but now I'm struggling for something DS can buy him... any more ideas?

DH loves football, and I was thinking DS could buy tickets for them to go to a game. Then I found out how hard (and expensive) football tickets are... back to the drawing board.

If all else fails, DS will buy DH a gift card to Red Lobster, since DH loves to eat there and we never go.

Special night out to watch a football game somewhere. Not at the stadium but maybe at a sports bar or a restaurant that is heavily sports themed where lots of others will be watching the same game. Treat him to dinner and let him enjoy watching the game surrounded by fellow fans that way. Less expensive and still pretty fun.

Last year I got my hubby 2 tickets to the NCAA playoffs in Chicago and two nights at the Mariott....I made sure he had a buddy free to go with him. He LOVED it.

I'm surprising DH with the equipment to convert our old record albums to MP3 files for his ipod. I bought it at Staples, but I think I saw it at Sears too. It was about $70 and I think he'll love it!

I got DH one of those for Christmas last year!

This year...I am getting him a subscription for Netflix, because now we can "stream" movies through either Tivo or our BluRay player. Woohoo - he was EASY this year!!!

DH is getting a MA1 flight jacket, a flight book and some thing he needs for his flight simulator (getting his pilots license)

For fun, I got him a card game book to go with the cool deck of cards he bought on our trip to FL this past September, Rock'em sock'em robots (he had one when he was little, couldn't pass it up for $7), a dremel tool accessory kit and an SD memory card. Oh, I think there is a BBQ cook book in the closet too.

I went a little crazy with DH this year, he has been working really hard and has been very sick . I'm just happy to have him and enjoyed spoiling him a bit. His big gift was a Keurig, whcih I gave him early and he LOVES!!! I got him a relaly nice Egyptian cotton robe, a ton of stuff from ThinkGeek and some computer things to name a few. Last year I got him the record player/converter to MP3s, that was a great gift and a few years ago gave him XM radio that he really loved too.

My DH is getting a GC to his favoriet Golf Store. I am not allowed to buy golf equipment, but a GC is ok. His other gift is a GC to his favorite casino. He likes to play poker one night a month so I thought I would stake him one buy-in.

Our limit is $500 (well I wish it was lower but DH apparently bought me a lot).

I got him:

Dharma (Lost) Hoodie $50

Craftsman 3 pc Tool Chest 14 drawers $200

TomTom GPS $100

I need to get:

Popcorn maker (I think the Waring Pro one)

Ring (I lost his wedding band when I went to get it engraved!)

Button up Columbia shirt

DH loves football too. I ordered a bunch of stuff from mysportsshop.com ... shirts, mug, beer mug, ornament, etc. It all arrived very quickly even to Canada.

I got my DH an iPod docking station. Also, a box of chocolate covered pretzels and underwear for his stocking! LOL!

He got me a Vera Bradley purse/wallet set. Also, a chocolate orange and socks.

So, about $65 each for everything (shopped Black Friday and used my employee discount for good deals). We don't give each other much for XMas anymore; we don't feel like we need much. We'd rather save the $ for a trip to Disney!!! :hippie:

This is a really good idea! Thanks!

I got my DH/overgrown kid a paintball gun and guitar hero Metallica! We usually don't exchange gifts but we have had a rough fall: he has be working 84 hour weeks since August and I have started Nursing school on top of working so we have been running ragged for weeks! I really want the Dooney and Bourke giraffe purse I have be eying, but at this point I told him to wait till after XMAS so I can take time to pick exactly the one I want!

2 polo shirts from Kohls (red and white), AMC gift card, tea from one of his favorite places, Mario Party 8, new point and shoot and new DSLR for both of us. Stocking stuffer things (scratch offs, Burts Bees lip stuff, gift coins from target, etc.

Well, I got laid off last month but thankfully found a new position within two weeks, and we just found out today the company DH works for is closing down as of Sunday (Merry Christmas and thanks for all that warning jerks!) so the ready cash we set aside for Christmas got put BACK into savings. Poor DH isn't getting much this year since we spent most of our budget prior to all the great employment news on the girls (plus a new baby coming in Jan to buy supplies for..darn diapers and essentials lol). He is getting:

3 prs Old Navy jeans that he NEEDS, 1 pr Old Navy sweats, and two seasons of Family Guy on dvd (his FAV show and I got them in Oct for B1G1 Free lol). I spent less than a hundred bucks on him.

Fiance came in the other day (I was sick with an upper respiratory infection and ear infection) but anyways I was useless lol. He came in and said he did his christmas shopping for himself and got a new phone, a jacket, and a shirt. I also got him the Batman bluray anthology.

I got my husband an ipod touch, a cover thingy for it, new dress shoes for work, some Halo pj's, xbox 360 game, some back thing for his chair at work that he saw and wanted, a new wallet, and a Halo Lego's kit (kind of a joke gift).

We don't exchange much and this year is tight so DH is getting new socks, his request, a DVD of a fav musical group & the King Baby Jim Gaffigan DVD - he loves it. I wish I could do more because he's really stepped up helping out since I went back to school.

We set a $50 limit this year to spend on each other so we could concentrate more on gifts for the kids. I got my DH a new bluetooth for his cell phone since his went through the washer and quit working. I also got him a car charger to go with it. He's also getting 2 CDs - volumes 1 and 2 of Glee. I think I have a little left so I'll pick him up a shirt too.
