As for me, my brother is having a party in the East Village tonight (that starts at 10pm; I must be getting old to think this is late.) Going out for dinner with my sister in law tomorrow, and running a 5k Sunday morning in Washington Heights!

We may be taking an impromptu trip to WDW in the next few weeks, so if we decide to do that, it'll be full on planning mode, as well.

I live by 181st Street on Fort Washington Avenue, please try to keep it down as you pass by on Sunday ;)...my plans involve sleeping late Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. :thumbsup2

Good luck on your run.:wave2:

Cleaning house and relaxing. DH is working with dad on his house all day tomorrow.

MAYBE car shopping!

Sounds like you are having a fun and full weekend!

We don't have anything really big going on- DD plays travel team soccer and has a game on Saturday afternoon. It is supposed to be very rainySaturday evening and all day Sunday, so Sunday might be a lazy day. DD wants to have a friend over to hang out , and I will probably do a big homemade dinner.

I will try to keep it hush hush. Not sure about all the bands on the course, though. :rotfl2:

I was down in Chicago today on a field trip for my Japanese class. We went to a Japanese market called Mitsuwa. This was my third time going, and my second time going with the class. We had SO much fun, but I spent too much money and got a little crazy on the bus ride back to Wisconsin...

I work tomorrow and Sunday, so my social life will be cut down to a bare minimum this weekend. Joy. ;)

I am watching my 2 grandsons. I am cleaning tonight, and I have tried to shovel ice off the driveway, so when we get hit with the foot of snow they are saying we are going to get on Tues and Wed, it will be easier to shovel. We still have 5 foot snow banks and 3 feet on the ground. Just what we need, MORE SNOW!

Tonight we have a potluck dinner for families with young children at our synagogue.
Tomorrow morning I'm doing as much of my 12 mile training run as I can finish before my daughter's ballet class. My DH will take our 7 year old to Hebrew School and then violin lesson. Saturday afternoon we'll collapse and let the children watch too much tv (Disney channel, of course). Maybe out for a quick family dinner?
Sunday my son has a birthday party and then we're going house-hunting. We made an offer on the house we're renting but have been waiting a long time for a response (the house is part of an estate - the previous owner died at age 96 - so there are many parties involved in the decision-making). I love our house but it needs a lot of work so I would consider something smaller but more updated.
Tom and I are both on-call this weekend so we'll be hoping the phone/beeper behaves!

Amanda

Happy Weekend, DISers!!! :)

Is it me or did this feel like the longest week EVER?!

I just got back from Target. I also picked up some Chinese for an early dinner. I am being dragged to a...-looking from side to side-....quilt show tomorrow with my mother and also have to get a lot of stuff done for work. Ugh! I can't wait for Spring Break!

We have a nice weekend coming. Tomorrow my oldest dd has bowling then we are going to diner at dh's uncles house Sunday is church followed by dropping off my girls at my moms for a sleepover and then dh is taking me out for my birthday to the melting pot

Going to Brunswick Saturday to see silent film "Don Q: Son of Zorro", then lunch at Indian restaurant.

Tomorrow I will be running some errands, housework and laundry. Sunday, I am meeting some friends to go for pedi's to be pampered.

Yes Nikki, this week lasted FOREVER!!

In NOLA for the Endymion parade, brunch at Brennan's and two nights at the posh W Hotel in the heart of the action. This suburban mommy is living like a rock star!

Working all day Saturday.

Sunday, picking up new mattress for DD (exciting, moving out of her crib) then cooking steaks for dinner.

We had some big trees either die in the drought or from being hit by lightning a few years ago:eek:

I have been slowing cutting down the trees and today there was no wind so I could take down the last big tree. It was 28 inches across on the stump. About 20 feet up the trunk the tree forked into two trunks. At that point, the fork was bigger than the stump, 40 inches! :scared1:

Cutting down trees is dangerous. Cutting down dead trees is more dangerous. I am glad I finally got this monster on the ground. After cutting the tree into logs I had hoped to move them but there were some problems cutting up the tree which took time to resolve so the logs did not get moved.

We heat the house with a wood stove. My best guess is that this tree might have up to two cords of wood. We burn a cord of wood in December and another in January so this tree will be keeping us warm in the coldest part of the year.

Course that tree kept me warm today cutting it down and up. It is going to keep me warm when I move the logs and cut them into rounds to split. Then I will be warm when I split and stack the wood. Finally we will be warm when we burn the wood. :rotfl2:

Next weekend I keep to clean up the mess. :confused3:rotfl:

Later,

I'm in Columbus, OH for the Arnold Fitness Classic and staying in the lap of luxury :)

My dd13 has a dress/tech rehearsal for "Annie" on Saturday. A day of laundry/house cleaning on sunday. A good weekend. Show opens on Tuesday!!

I had a great weekend! Met up with a fellow NJ DISer in NYC yesterday and the weather was gorgeous! (We were going to go 2 weeks ago but it was way too windy so we went to Freehold instead.) But yesterday was so nice!! We walked around, visited the new Disney store, shopped, and then had an amazing lunch! We ate at Becco and wow - the food was amazing! Then we got some cupcakes at Crumbs that are to die for and saw "American Idiot" with discount tix they were advertising on the street. It was a long, but great day in the city! We're def heading back sometime soon!

Today it's a day of laying around in my jammies listening to the rain outside. Food is in the oven for my lunches for the week and laundry is in. I'm bummed the weekend is over, but am glad to have had such an amazing Saturday!

Here are pics from Becco's and Crumbs - YUM!:
