What are you doing on the 4th

Independence Day Mass at 9:30.
The rest of the day I’ll play by ear.
I’m on call at the hospital so I’ve got to stick close by and keep the celebrating to a minimum.
I’ll be checking in with the disboards from time to time.
I fondly remember spending July 4, 1975 at the Magic Kingdom! America On Parade Bicentennial Celebration! The Hall of Presidents was “free”; no D ticket required!
Gerald Ford was the current President.
I once went to MK on the 4th. Never again. Was in front of the hall of pres for the fireworks. It was so chaotic getting out. Must have taken an hour to get to the exit. It was so bad trying to push my son in his stroller that I picked him up and abandoned his stroller. Wasn’t worth it.

My son works at one of the National Laboratories, this is his 5th year as an intern. For a few years we've been hosting a 4th of July BBQ for the interns. They come from all over the US and some from other Countries. We feed them and give them a home to hang out, then they venture off to the River for a fireworks show.

Doing a family cookout today with our two sons (and DIL and GF). Both couples have plans on the 4th. DS and DDIL with friends and DS and his GF with her family. DH and I usually stay home or go to a movie if we don't have a cookout to go to and grill our own steaks. We have only gone to fireworks maybe 10 times over the years. Crowds usually aren't worth it and here in the DC area, it almost always T-storms on the 4th which usually at most delays them, but sometimes cancels them. Some of the local smaller fireworks are usually not on the 4th. One town near us does them on the 4th but it's just so chaotic. We just watch A Capitol Fourth on our public television channel. Having been downtown a few times in the 70's and 80's, it just isn't worth the trouble since 9/11. When we were growing up, you could drive into DC and park easily, but now, it's virtually impossible and taking metro is a royal pain with the crowds.

We’ll be in Indianapolis. My daughter’s volleyball team earned a bid to Nationals so we’ll be watching her play. I’ll have to look and see if the city does anything for the 4th.

Sort of up in the air now. First we were headed to the coast and they had to close the beaches because of algae (Mississippi). And then ds and dil rented a cabin at a local lake and we were all headed there for a cookout and a day out in the boat and fireworks. Well they had to close the lake due to bacteria in the water. So dil is looking for another place to take the boat and hopefully get a cabin.

I am just not feeling it this year. I usually love the 4th of July but right now, I don't feel like celebrating it. It could be that last year, my husband was in the ICU and so now I associate the two. We will swim if the weather is okay and I will probably grill something. Unless our kids really want to go to the fireworks, we probably won't.

I don't go anywhere on the 4th because the dog is terrified when folks start setting off fire crackers. Normally, that starts about noon. We have a pool. Depending on the weather, I'll probably swim. Then, DD and I plan to binge the new season of Stranger Things. I'll sit on our lanai to watch the fireworks over Magic Kingdom. That's about it.

Great, I will see them on the 3rd, and we’ll be in Epcot on the 4th! I love to see fireworks !
Cool. We get there the morning of the 4th but I will be watching videos of the 3rd. Also enjoy Epcot's fireworks, its the last time they're showing it.

We might spend the day at the pool. They do a small fireworks show. Perfect for a warm summer evening. If it rains we usually do a board game night at home.
