What are you doing on Sunday after the full marathon

I am going to walk back through epcot (we are staying at the dolphin...I have a park ticket)......maybe stop at sunshine seasons for lunch, shower, rest for a few hours(my boys we need to nap at this time anyway), then coral reef(my favorite!:woohoo:) for an early supper, then a few rides at epcot, and possibly MK.....depending on how I feel.

DH is doing the Goofy for the first time this year but last year he did the full. I think for him it will be shower, lunch then nap. We do the weekend with a large group of about 50 family members and friends. Later in in the afternoon we hang out together then attend a celebration party with the charity group we run with. It's a lot of fun especially for the kids. Good food, dj, games, Disney tattoos and face painting and characters.
It's also like a family reunion so it's a great time!

I will be exhausted! And DH will be too from wrangling our 3 and 1 year old boys to cheer for me. We will probably have to play it by ear but I'm hoping to relax and hopefully have some friends over to our villa to celebrate. I'd love to hit up a park if only for a little to snow off my bling :)

I'm exploring the ice bath. My friend who is an amazingly fast and accomplished runner says to do it. "pour ice in a cold bath and sit there for 10-15 min. Yeah it will be cold. Suck it up" :rotfl2:

I usually shower, eat something, and then head to a park. I find that walking around the park all day helps with soreness.

Another first timer here, but this is my plan...

I don't like to hang out in the post race area. I get my medal, take a water, have my picture taken and go straight to the bus.

First priority is food!!! Second is a hot shower. No ice baths for me. I found them to be useless torture. Lol. After that I will need to get myself out of my room. If I stay I will fall asleep and not want to leave for the rest of the day. I'll head over to the Contemporary where I'm meeting my WISH Duck teammates for celebratory drinks at the Outer Rim and then dinner at Chef Mickey's! I can't wait. :)

I hear ya on the torture part of the ice bath... but it's one thing that I very strongly recommend when people ask! I skipped it once and regretted it deeply for days. Here's how to make it tolerable: put on a sweatshirt or something warm on your top, fill up hotel trash barrel with ice, put that next to the tub and get in. Start filling the tub with cool... not too warm that the ice will melt immediately but cool enough that you can tolerate getting in. Sit in the tub and once the water is filled enough that it covers your legs, turn off the running water and dump in the ice!
Having a beverage in your hand helps the process as well :)
Staying in until the ice is all melted/you're starting to get used to it should do the trick, maybe 10-15 minutes.

I've never done one after any runs shorter than 20 miles but I can tell ya, a full 26.2 miles (plus some in Disney, gotta run over to get the pictures along the course ;) ) is a different beast!

Good luck and have so much fun!

After the race, if I have to drag myself from that room to the Magic Kingdom to wear that medal and get my picture taken I will, because Sunday/Monday are it, once I'm back home I won't be wearing the medal and so help God I'm taking advantage of every last possible minute!
