What are you doing for Mother's Day?

Darned if I know. All I want is for my mom, MIL, and grandma-in-law to be happy. I'm not sure how I can please all of them. Ugh.

I guess I'll get my own Mothers Day someday. :confused3

I'll be at the little league fields all day. I'm hoping to go out to dinner after but we'll probably just pick up subs on the way home.

I'm hoping we can hit Disney World Saturday and Sunday. See if there are any last minute DVC rooms ;)

I got my mom and I tickets to a Cleveland Indians game since she loves baseball. They had such a great deal that if you bought $50 worth of merchandise you got 2 free tickets to any game in April, May or June. So she is also getting a Grady Sizemore jersey tee. Another added bonus is they are giving away Slider Slippers to all women that day.

After the game we will probably go to my Grandma's for dinner.

I plan on sleeping in, then making DH take me out to lunch at Texas Roadhouse. I will then spend the rest of the day on the couch with my feet up relaxing, while DH paints the nursery :)

Wish we had $$ in the budget to take MIL out to dinner but we don't.
We usually go to inlaws house and MIL cooks. They don't have a grill for the men to cook. I guess the best thing I could do is cook something up at home and bring it?

OP here - I didn't make my first post clear, DH can cook so I think I will have him make a lasagna! No more cooking for MIL:thumbsup2

It doesn't have to be a huge expensive deal, Mom's/MIL's usually love and enjoy whatever is decided, specially if they don't have to do the work!

She'll be happy and touched her DS's is going out of his way to cook her a lasagna dinner!! :)

Ideal plan #1: Having a baby.:cool1:

Awwww, a baby... best gift of all :cloud9:!! Good luck Lisa :wizard:

Other than going to church I will be suffering another day of the horrid LID diet in preperattion for my nuclear scan to do a cancer follow up. Hmm, last year I had to do the diet during easter, why is it always during the holidays??:confused3

So glad you're doing well LMP and sending prayers for a good report . Sit back and let your family spoil you after all you've been through :flower3:.

I'm enjoying reading all your fun plans!! :woohoo:

Saturday we'll be taking my Mom out to eat, followed by our annual shopping trip to Amish nursery for spring flowers she so enjoys. We'll also take flowers to my dear MIL's resting place. :flower2:

I have no clue what's going on for the day at my house, other than I've been told my out of state families are coming in. :lovestruc

would you share what is your menu?
Brunch sounds like a doable plan for us.

My menu is an easy egg/cheese "souffle" that I make up the day before and cook that morning, either French toast, pancakes or waffles with real maple syrup, bacon/sausage, Tator tots, fruit cups of fresh watermelon, strawberries, cantalope, pineapple, bananas(whatever looks good), muffins or some baked goodie(usually made by one of my sisters) and of course, coffee and juice. I try to prepare everything the day before like the souffle and the pancakes or french toast(heat in oven the day of brunch wrapped in foil)and cut up all the fruit and assemble fruit caps that morning. I also set up the table the day before so I'm not stressing that morning.

My DS is turning 15 on Mother's Day. I guess his birthday trumps my day, because we're going to a minor league baseball game. We're bringing my mom and her DH too. I'm not sure what we'll do for dinner...maybe go out? Money is really tight here, so maybe we'll just come back to my house, grill some meat, and have cake.

We will be spending Mother's Day at Epcot and having dinner at LeCellier!

I've spent two Mother's Days doing the same thing!! Epcot gives carnations to mom's on Mother's Day (or at least they used to!)

Enjoy your day, and your yummy dinner!!!!

Games on Mothers Day :confused3 Thats horrible!

Mothers Day and Fathers Day are the only times we don't have games scheduled. No baseball, softball, soccer or gymnastics.

Though DD just got an invitation for a birthday party for a neighbor girl up the street and its on Mothers Day. Probably because its the only day they don't have games either. So I'll be spending part of the day at a 7 yo's birthday party.

At least I'm not working the stand on Mother's Day like I am on Father's Day.

Isn't funny how our day still manages to be the kids day? Hope you enjoy that party

to be honest, I would just as soon do nothing at all. at least for me. but everyone will want to go all out for MIL. MIL is a great woman and all but DH and I just dont usually participate in Hallmark holidays. His sibs will push us into something like they usually do tho.

I'm on the South Beach Diet and sub sandwiches would make my mouth water right about now. :woohoo:

I will buy the book I want unofficial guide picture book or whatever the proper name is.

i will then ship my DH and DSs to my MILs for the afternoon and take a quiet bubble bath and a nap. I will of course call MIL and wish her a happy day but I don't go and see her after all it is "my" day too.

ahhhh.....the "first" of the "firsts". My Mom died on April 1, so this'll be our first Mother's Day without her. For every holiday, my siblings and their families come to my house for brunch and for the first time, we won't gather on Mother's Day. BUT - we will all be together the day before at a luxury box at an Oakland A's game. We are able to get one every year with our weekend season ticket plan, so this year's just happened to land on the day before Mother's Day. Mom would be pleased to think that her kids were all together and having fun.

I'm thinking of having my sons take me and DH out to brunch - and they can foot the bill!

We'll probably have the mothers (my mohther and my 2 DSils) over for dinner.
I am not a mother, so I don't mind entertaining them.

:hug:Julie

My Mom is almost 85 and her health and stamina are waning. I know the day will come when I won't have her anymore so we are cherishing every conversation, every hug, everytime I call her house and she answers. God be with you on your first Mother's day without your Mom.

No plans for me as I'm in DC doing my reserve time...and don't have kids of my own anyways. Well, I have 3 step-sons so once in a while my hubby will surprise me with a little something, lol.

But I'm planning on sending flowers to my mom, aunt, and grandma. And then I am ordering a Cross pen for my mom. See, she LOVES Cross pens. When I was Really little she let me play with hers and somehow I lost half of it. ...the woman actually kept on using that darn HALF for Years. In fact, I bet she still has it... Anyways...some 25 years later I think it's about time I replace it! :rotfl:

I will be at Disney World. It wasn't planned for Mother's Day, it just worked out that way. I am claiming it as my Mother's Day gift, even though we have AP's.
