Wish we had $$ in the budget to take MIL out to dinner but we don't.
We usually go to inlaws house and MIL cooks. They don't have a grill for the men to cook. I guess the best thing I could do is cook something up at home and bring it?

KNOEBELS!!
They give all the moms plastic flower corsages!

Edit to add I am easy to please!

Maybe your DH could learn to prepare a meal that doesn't require a grill to make dinner for his mother and for you? I bet she'd love it.

Ideal plan #1: Having a baby.:cool1:

Ideal plan #2: Relaxing comfortably while my husband takes over the housework for the day (or at a minimum--cleans up/fixes/sorts out/organizes--whatever I point to!) He's been gone since Nov 30th with a few home visits. But this home visit, he stays until after baby is born and has PROMISED that he will assist with the nesting duties that I would love to do...but can't do or have had trouble doing.

Ideal plan #3: An afternoon at the spa--but not sure if we have the money even if I go to the least expensive place in town. But a 30 minute foot rub is on my list!

Other than that--no actual real plans--those are just things I'd like to happen.:cloud9:

Maybe her favorite dish?

Do you have a garden that you can pick flowers and bring her some?

I host a Mother's Day Brunch for my family and my DH's mom and my Dsis's MIL & FIL. This year it's up to 19 people - yikes! I pretty much have the same menu every year and don't dare mess with it as it's what everyone expects, plus, I don't stress over it since I know how much I need to feed this many people. Best part for me is, everyone comes to ME and they're all gone usually by 11AM so I have the rest of the day to myself(and DH)!

Hopefully, I am not working. I work in a nice restaurant and worked last year. It was good money, but I would have rather enjoyed the day. My sister is taking my mom to WDW. I tried to tell them that I'm a mom, too, but I don't think it worked.

On Sat. my middle DS and I will go shopping for plants, he'll buy me some and I'll pick up some and then we go to my house to do the planters, pots and hanging baskets together. I really enjoy it.

On Sunday we will go to brunch at a local place called Charlies, not a fancy place but the brunch they have for mothers day is incredable. Not sure who will be going but I know DH and I will.

I prefer not to celebrate Mother's Day, but wishing all you who do a happy one.

Got tickets to take my Mama to see Travis Tritt!! :lovestruc

We will be spending Mother's Day at Epcot and having dinner at LeCellier!

Other than going to church I will be suffering another day of the horrid LID diet in preperattion for my nuclear scan to do a cancer follow up. Hmm, last year I had to do the diet during easter, why is it always during the holidays??:confused3

I'm going to Disney World!!!
Well actually on the 9th we will be in Sea World, but that night I will poolside at POR and when I wake up the next morning it's off to the MK!!

To the OP I say teach those men to cook something that doesn't require a grill. Even if it turns out awful it will be a laugh, and your MIL is sure to love it! Make 'em wear pink polka dot aprons while they are at it too!!
A good laugh and some embarrassing pictures sounds better than a fancy meal to me!

Me, DH and the kids are going to do the Race for the Cure at the Mall of America. It's going to be a fun time for a great cause!

My mom lives in Ohio and his is in Florida so we won't be able to see them.

I think we'll probably go out for lunch after the walk as well and maybe to the park or zoo (the walk is in the a.m. should be done by 11ish).

As long as I'm spending it with my kids, I don't care much what I do!

would you share what is your menu?
Brunch sounds like a doable plan for us.

We're going to pick up our daughter at school!!!! The next day, we're going to Disney World!

luvmarypoppins, I wish you well for your follow up

OP here - I didn't make my first post clear, DH can cook so I think I will have him make a lasagna! No more cooking for MIL:thumbsup2 For those of you going to DisneyWorld :woohoo:
