What are typically the discounts for AP holders?

I am considering upgrading my MYW PH/fun 5 day pass to an AP. does anyone know what a typical discount is? I am looking at the WL in Nov. for just my DH and I. I am trying to decide if it is worth it to upgrade. The package price for the Nov trip with 3 day tix (no hoppers) and dining is $1448.
I know you can not get dining with AP, but is the room discount worth it? :confused3

Thanks for any info.

November would be regular season, I would expect that the discount rate would be around $85.00 or so off per night. I'm not sure what type room you have but the rack rate for a standard room is $249.00 per night subtract $85.00 the total before tax would be $164.00 plus tax would be around $183.50 x 4 nights = $734.00, the cost of the 5 day ticket hopper with the fun option, before tax, I think is 274.00 and an AP is 415.00, the difference is $141.00, you room plus the add'l cost of the ticket would be $875.00.
Use this figure and determine what your meals will cost for the 3 days, to determine if you will realize any savings. Of course if you are planning more than one trip a year then your AP would give you more of a savings as you would not have to buy a ticket for your second trip.
The rule of thumb seems to be if you are buying the AP for the resort discounts only and are not going to make more than one trip, it is not worth the extra cost of the AP

No one can really answer this with certainity. Based on the AP discounts that have been relased so far I can tell you that the amount we paid for our savanna view room at the AKL was much higher then what we paid for a savanna view room with an AP discount in Jan of 2005. I would suggest you checkout www.mousesavers.com to take a look at historical AP rates for the time you are thinking of traveling. I never suggest to anyone that they buy an AP only for the room discounts as that are not a garentee.

Thanks for the quick replies. Just to clarify, I wouldn't be buying AP for discounts only. We are there for 6 days in feb (18 days to go, wooohoo :Pinkbounc ), and then my dH and I want to go back in Nov. would you buy an AP for 2 trips or just buy MYW passes?

thanks,

I always have an AP so that we can get the discounts.I just got the WL at 133$ of per night.Thats during peak season though. As I go back like you do I generally get 10 day no exp tickets, that way,on every trip,I dont have to buy new tickets for everyone

If you are going to spend more then 10days in the parks then I would go with the AP. Here is a link to some very good info with comparison charts.

Thanks for the link Tiffany, it was very helpful.

Now here's the next part of the question. Is is possible to add days, with no expiration to our 5 day PH fun passes when we check in? We do not have No expiration right now, but could add it if needed.

Thanks again,
