Okay, we were there the last week of July and saw construction at the end of Bonnet Creek Road. Any info? Ideas? Could it possibly be a new moderate resort?

That would be the Four Seasons development location. Fours Seasons resort, fractional ownership homes, etc.

Used to be the Eagle Pines golf course.

Or about as far (pricewise) from 'moderate' as you can get. Worse still, no longer Disney property, either.

Yea Iger, thanks for selling the property Walt bought. If he could return from the beyond, he would most certainly slap you silly...............:sad2:

Can we all get in line and do it on his behalf:confused3? Maybe the stockholders could get slapping fast passes.

I wonder what Iger will put up next on the auction block/distress sale:confused: I know there's this old castle from '71 just sittin' there...

Slapping fast passes...... Sounds like a damn good idea to me! :thumbsup2

I know that they are putting in luxury pet resort on that road. It is suppose to open in 2010. Might be that.

Facility to Bring New Level of Service and Amenities to Disney World Pet Guests

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Best Friends Pet Care Inc. has signed an agreement to build and operate a full-service, luxury pet "resort" at Walt Disney World Resort. The one-of-a-kind facility will cater to park and resort guests as well as Walt Disney World employees, providing a full range of pet hospitality services including dog and cat boarding, day care and grooming services, and doggy day camp.

Pet guests will enjoy such amenities as luxury suites with television and raised bedding, activities such as nature walks and playgroups, and pampering services ranging from ice cream treats to bedtime stories. The state-of-the-art facility will be located on Bonnett Creek Parkway in Walt Disney World Resort and is expected to open in 2010.

In anticipation of opening the new facility, Best Friends has assumed operating responsibility for the five existing pet boarding facilities in Walt Disney World Resort. Kennels on the Walt Disney World property are located at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and provide both daytime and overnight boarding.

"We are thrilled to have this opportunity to come to Walt Disney World Resort to create the premier vacation destination for pets," said Dennis Dolan, president and CEO of Best Friends Pet Care. "This project is still in the design phase, but our goal is to create a true resort destination for pets. This facility will be designed to fit into the Walt Disney World vacation experience and will be unlike anything else in the industry.

"We are also fortunate to be operating the existing boarding kennels," he added. "It allows us to get to know the pets and pet parents who already use the Walt Disney World kennels, so we can be sure our new facility will meet their needs."

"We are very pleased to have Best Friends working with us on this project," said Kenneth Janik, regional manager, Walt Disney World Operating Participants. "Best Friends is well-respected both for the quality of care they provide, and for their innovative pet amenities and hospitality services. We know they will deliver a unique experience for the family pets of our guests and employees that is both fun and consistent with the Disney approach."

Best Friends is a leading provider of pet hospitality in the United States, with 43 locations in 18 states. The company introduced the concept of a "pet resort" to the industry in 1996 and has been responsible for popularizing such services and care options as luxury suites and doggy day camp programs. Remember there is constructiuon going on at both ends of BCP. One is the Four Seasons project near FW the other is the Waldorf and pet resort closer to CBR. . . . .

That's true, they are doing the pet thing, but this particular construction is the resort that doconell is refering to.

I think several things are getting confused.

Per the OP, the construction at the "end of Bonnet Creek Road" (I assume Bonnet Creek Parkway), at the northern end across Vista Blvd is the Four Season Resort.

The Waldorf-Astoria resort is NOT on Bonnet Creek Parkway, but is in the Bonnet Creek Resort area, which is actually not even really near Bonnet Creek Parkway but is off Chelonia Parkway, which runs alongside CBR. This area is a piece of land not owned by Disney, but is "landlocked" in a sense by Disney (it is also bordered by Osceola Parkway and I4).

There IS a "luxury" pet resort going in somewhere along Bonnet Creek Parkway, but I an unsure of the position.

Thanks for strightening that out. :thumbsup2

Correct, the Waldorf Astoria is located at:

14200 Bonnet Creek Resort Lane

As mentioned, the Pet Resort is located on Bonnet Creek Pkwy and will open in '10.

Ah, they must be continuing the Orlando area tradition of naming your driveway as a road, and using large numbers to make it seem like a long road :)

I see the Hilton is also using a similar address (14100). I wonder if that is an offshoot of Chelonia that heads southward along the golf course they were building.

If that is the case, then the OP could have been talking about Bonnet Creek Resort Lane (although more likely the Parkway).

After spending the weekend at Bonnet Creek I decided to check out what you all had been saying on here and FINALLY place things into position without guessing all the way from some other state without having 1st seen it myself

The Hilton and Waldorf Astoria are finally open (opened this past weekend) and are located next door to one another on Bonnet Creek Lane, (turn right off of Bonnet Creek Pkwy.) Continuing down the street is the construction for both the 4 Seasons AND the luxury pet resort. There- witnessed. No pics tho as I was too busy trying not to get a nail in my tire. :upsidedow

Ugh...I'm afraid you've just confused me even more!!!

Bonnet Creek Lane is off Bonnet Creek Parkway? Did they extend the southern end of the parkway across Epcot Center Drive to get to the Bonnet Creek resort area? To my knowledge it hasn't.

Last I knew, BCP starts at Epcot Center Drive and heads north, opposite the direction of where the BCR area is, and has Old Key West and Port Orleans resorts on the right hand side pretty much all the way up, until the end at Vista Boulevard, across which is the Four Seasons.

Is the pet resort going in with the Four Seasons? I only learned about this the other day, so have no idea where it is supposed to be.

Edit: I looked up the directions for the Hilton and W-A, and they list Bonnet Creek Lane off Chelonia Parkway, where I figured it would be...

:headache: I'm so sorry for the confusion- I had the road names completely wrong. Here's what I was able to do for peeps tho. (Sorry- not good at photoshop but it'll do.)

The two red areas that I painted on are the Hilton and the Waldorf Astoria. The vacant land at the end of the street is the Four Seasons Resort- and where the proposed pet spa will be.

Ah...you are correct on the Hilton and W-A, but that is not where the Four Seasons is located.

Edit: I had a proper post, but the editor somehow ate it with a previous version I had tried and failed at... :(

Here is the link I was trying to post.

The Four Seasons is going where Eagle Pines golf course was.

The area you indicated as far as I know was nothing more than a staging area for the Bonnet Creek resorts construction. Not sure if something newer is down there now - never gone that far and no satellite image is newer than circa 2006.
