What are these "referrals?"

I just realized you can click on someone's user name and a few options pop up. I clicked on my own, went to profile and in one of the boxes it said referral:1.

What does that mean???? Thanks!!!

There's one on my profile, too. I don't know if it's always been there or if it's something new.

If, when a person registers, they list your name as having referred them to the DIS, your profile shows a referral. I think I have 4. This site does not do anything with referrals, it is just part of the vBulletin software the site uses; I suppose some sites use the feature.

Now if I could just remember who I referred....
