What Are These "Bouncebacks" That I Am Reading About?

Apologies, as I am still somewhat new and learning my way around.

I have been reading threads (and also seeing some siggies) that are talking about "bounceback" vacations. From what I can gather it's something that you get when you check out of your hotel, I think?

So what are they? Are they from/for specific hotels?

When you visit a resort, you may be offered to return at a great rate if you book the return while you're there.

We are going in a few weeks, do you think they will be still doing the Bounce Back offer? thanks!:goodvibes

They are offered all the time but the dates they want you to return are limited to late Aug, Sept and early Oct.

Do you have to pay for the entire vacation right then and there when you book it, or do you get to just pay the deposit first?

Cool. Do they give you time to think and discuss prior to checking out? Or is it a "here it is, give me a decision now, RIGHT NOW!" type of deal? And what if you book it and then want to change (add ) the number of people down the road?

(sorry for all of the questions. I just want to be prepared).

Uh, no, the offer is in your hotel room when you arrive. . .you have till the time you check out to book. . .and its room only so you only pay the first nights stay. . .

You can book your estimated vacation dates, pay only one nights stay as a deposit, then change the dates etc. later when you know for sure when you want to go. They are very flexible but you have to book something in before you leave the resort to use the special bounceback code.

To add to this BB info, there are different BB offers and sometimes there's just no BB offered at all. ;)

Also you can BB to any resort that has BB availability, not just the resort you are staying in. You have to book before checking out.

Here's a picture of two different BB offers posted by DISers to help you see what they might look like if offered:

The first was the BB offered during the Free Dining period last year (2007- for guests staying at a WDW resort 8/31 to 10/12/07) and was to be able to book free dining again for the next year (2008- dates 8/30-9/29/08).

On this package BB you had to pay a deposit of $200 with the balance due 45 days prior.

By booking FD a year in advance you had first choice of resorts and could relax knowing that you already had Free Dining booked for the next year.

There was no other BB with room discounts, etc. during the FD period, just the FD BB.:

Thanks to mickey2000 and larryz for posting these originally

This is a copy of a recent BB that could end at any time (probably when FD starts if they offer a FD BB again this year instead):

Here's a look at the BounceBack offer card that was in our rooms at the YC yesterday...

If you don't find a BB offer in your room, call extension 8844 from your room, or 407-541-5523 BEFORE YOU CHECK OUT of your resort to see if there are any available. :goodvibes
