Just wondering.... Does anyone know what the worst, and best, standard views at the Wilderness Lodge are? Also, I have read that there are standard view rooms that also overlook the lobby. Are these rooms hard to obtain if you request them? Can you get a king bed in a standard room, or only queen?? Any other standard view info is appreciated :)

i dont know about the regular rooms...But i was told by the WL pro from the WL FAQ's that some villas have a dumpster view..

The Wilderness Lodge is one of our favorite resorts. Our first time we had a standard room (with bunk beds) overlooking the lobby - that's what they gave us without us requesting it. The window/balcony faced the back of one of the green gables - no great view but not ugly either & kinda private.
In walking around the resort, I saw window that looked out over the loading area - I'm very glad we didn't get that.

Only downside to the lobby standard is if you plan on taking a rest in the afternoon - the noise from Whispering Canyon Cafe & general lobby noises might be hard to tune out.

There are standard views that overlook the loading area (the majority of the standard views at WL actually). They are in the North wing (towards MK) just off the lobby area. The views are literally of the service dock, BUT, these rooms face MK and given the time of year, and the fullness of the trees, they have the potential to have MK, and/or fireworks views.

I had one of those rooms the room numbers I had were5060 and 7064, they offered me a conceige (7064)upgrade from the courtyard view I had.............if I had know that it had a "dumpster" view I wouldn't have taken it and I don't consider that an upgrade.....And yes you could see the fireworks but since I like to sit on the balcony and read and relax I did not like the view at all..............Not that it is dirty, I am just not interested in seeing the people come to work and see the comings and goings of equipment etc. The room I had in May was 2001 and it looked at the dock and the lake........but on that floor the balcony is stoned in and the space was very small, could hardly fit the 2 chairs out there and then you couldn't see over the wall very good unless you were standing, it would have been a great room for some one with small children. After many trips there I have begun writing down room numbers that I absolutely hate, I don't usually ask for anything in particular but at least now I know what I don't want:rolleyes:
