We are thinking about trying to book a stay at BLT in May. I was wondering what the standard view rooms face. It seems that there couldn't be that bad a view from the way the building is shaped. Is it hard to book a SV studio at the 7 month mark? We have never stayed here and are wanting to try something different this time.

Standard view rooms basically mean "low floor".

There are NO bad views at BLT. Just some "okay to good" views and a LOT of spectacular views.

Standard view is mostly the first 3 floors of BLT, but they can go as high as the 5th floor. You might have a view of the pool, the lake, the main contemporary building, or even a low floor magic kingdom view.

Standard view can be hard to get at 7 months. If you're attempting to go at an off-peak time, there would be a half-decent chance if you called right at 7 months. If you try during peak DVC times, you will certainly have to waitlist and be sure to have a back-up reservation.

We are going in early May which I assume would not be such a busy time. I don't like the lower floors but we want to try and check out all of the DVC resorts. If we use too many points in May it doesn't leave enough for the fall which is our bigger trip. I guess even a room without a view will give us the experience of BLT and we can see if we want to come another time and use more points. We have never stayed in a monorail resort so it will be fun to try!

We stayed one night at BLT in June. We needed an extra night to get the better flights, and decided to try out that resort. We got a standard view at 7 months with no problem. Keep in mind that we only needed one night though.

We requested an even number room (outside of the C-shape that faces MK and 7 seas lagoon, not inside facing Bay Lake) on the north end (end closest to MK). We saw space mountain, the castle, and a little bit of lake from our room. It was wonderful! We were on the 5th floor.

You can always make a request and hope for a "good view" from a standard room, but remember that requests are only requests. I don't think there is a "bad" view in the building.
