What are the parks like in May?

We have a trip planned for May 3-10 and I was just wondering what the parks are like then (crowd-wise, weather-wise, rehab-wise, operating time-wise, etc.). This is our first time going down then and I was just curious. We usually go down in July/August when the crowds are heavy and the weather is HOT :sunny:. Just wondering how it compares to those months also.

May is my FAVORITE time to visit. It is just beautiful then. The weather is about 85 during the day and 65-70 at night. While it is not crowded like the summer there are a bit more people then the winter months. I don't like to go when it's real crowded. This time frame is great not to overly crowded but not a ghost town either. Park hours I don't remember exactly but are a bit later than the winter months. Have a great trip!

This year and had a great time, the crowds were heavy at times but nothing that we couldn't manage well. The parks were open late, well AK closed at 6.Had plenty of time to tour and do all the attractions and show's we wanted. It was in the mid 80's in the day and low 70's in evenings. :goodvibes :earsboy:

I've gone the first or second week of May the past 6 years. Crowds are not bad. Weather can get hot, this year was nice but in past years it got into the 90's but not humid like summer. Usually very little rain.

May is also my favorite time to go. This year we even rode many attractions without any wait. We had a fantastic time and plan on going back again during the same week in May 2006. The weather was warm but nothing like we saw in June and it only rained one evening during our week long stay.

I think you'll find you'll like it much better in early May. We were there the first week of May this year and even though it was the actual "kick off" week of the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" and one park closed early each night for press events we still enjoyed going at this time and wouldn't hesitate going this time next year. Crowds were not bad at all and weather was just perfect...actually the last of the "lower humidity" days in the area. Good time to go "all around" :earsgirl:

Absolute love to visit the parks in May.. Its the best time.. not as crowded and the weather is great...

Put me down for May also. We usually go the first week of May. Crowds are pretty manageable. MK can be a little crowded in the early to mid-afternoon. Weather is very good: light rain sometimes but nothing like the "monsoons" of the summertime. All in all, if you don't like the heat or crowds, May is a great time of year to visit.

I love May in Disney. Hot enough to get the full value from your resort pool, and it seems to me that with graduations, weddings, school activities etc. the crowd levels are the most manageable. It can get hot - we were there in May 2003 and my DS still talks about how "blazing" hot it was. We were there this past May 20-25th and it was hot in the late afternoon - but not unbearable. DH and I are not big on it being really hot....I don't know how people do Florida in mid summer so May works for us.

I don't want to be the wet blanket - but we used to go Memorial Day week for quite a few years, and it was always super hot and humid and LOTS of rain and thunderstorms.

Now, it may just be that we're bad luck (and we probably are, as I've never experienced the "quick afternoon showers" in the summer, it's always hours of downpours) - but just be aware that May (at least late May) weather can be very much the same as mid-summer weather in Orlando. :sunny: :umbrella:

We've gone the last 2 years during the middle of May. I've loved it! Manageable crowds and the weather is tolerable. (If things work out, we'll go next May as well.) I definitely recommend May. :earsgirl:

Sounds like a great time to go. Thanks! Now the hard part.....waaaaiiiting all the way unitl May to go down there :rolleyes1 . It's soooo far away. But it's sounds like it will be well worth the wait :teeth:
