What are the odds?

A few weeks ago DH and I decided to try and do a cheap trip down to WDW during easter week (3/22-3/29). We called Member Svcs and all the DVC properties are booked, but there are rooms available for cash. So, we had our name placed on the waiting list in case someone cancels their reservation. I'm thinking our odds are slim at best to get this, but my DH was wondering if they ever convert the cash rooms to DVC point rooms if it appears that the cash rooms won't be used? Anyone know?

The cash rooms actually exist because DVC members used their points for other areas such as DCL, Disneyland hotels, etc. and traded out. So they are "used" points already and cannot be put back into DVC inventory as a result.

Even if you planned ahead, I don't think you can do a cheap trip during Easter Week. Perhaps you could look into off site?

We define a cheap trip as APs are paid for already, we'll drive instead of flying, and use our DVC points instead of paying for a room. At that point it's just food & gas!

I would call every day to see if something open up.
