that there will be an AP discount for October that includes deluxe resorts (BC). All the years I've gone and I've never done the AP before now and so I have never paid attention.

What do you think the chances are? :rolleyes1

We are trying to decide if we should upgrade one of our 6 day tickets for our October trip to an AP so we can use the discounts for next year. Tough decision. I hear the discounts are good- but you never know when they will be offered, and you can't get use teh DP with an AP. Seriously this keeps me up at night. ANY info about the amount and frequency of discounts for AP holders would be super appreciated.

I'm waiting as well for the AP rates and the Calender of DD's school so I hope they hit at about the same time.

I've used all my DVC points and don't want to get in the habit of borrowing to deep.So for a long weekend I would like to get in on a AP rate .they just released Sept. so At least they hadn't jumped over the entire time.

The Epcot resorts are always VERY popular in October because of the Food & Wine Festival. We have a DVC ressie for a portion of our October stay, but were hoping for AP rates for the portion of our stay that's sold out.

That being said, I'm expecting that IF they release AP rates for October, they'll be very limited......

I agree with Tink10. The DVC EPCOT resorts and most other DVC resort locations are already full and have been for the last 6 months (or longer). Since there were no AP discounts in October last year, it's hard to judge what will happen. Though there were no discounts last year, the place was still full, so WDW needed no discounts to fill the rooms. October has become a very busy time to go. Not like Easter, Christmas or June, but is following closely behind. Now with the new celebration kicking off on Oct. 1, everyone is going to be waiting and wondering what Disney does next. Unfortunately I would suggest booking a room you can afford to pay at rack rate and if a discount comes out and you want to upgrade, that will be great, if no discounts come out (like last year) you'll have a room reserved at a price you can afford. I have my rooms at the WL villas which I booked in March and am glad because there is no availability at the WLV for my timeframe now. With most of the DVC resorts now filled or only having availability on a day here and a day there, it takes a big chunk of rooms away. I need a room for one night and know I may have to pay full price, but if I get a small discount, great, if not, no big deal, it's only a place to sleep for one night for us before moving to the WLV.

We're renting DVC points to stay at BCV for 6 nights of our October trip. We have 3 nights at WL & I'm hoping for an AP discount there. I'm prepared to pay rack rate, but I'd really like to save a little. We went the first week of October two years ago & the crowds were great! It did start getting a bit more crowded around Columbus Day weekend. This year, DD's fall break is pushed back a week. We'll be arriving the Thursday before Columbus Day (the 5th) and staying through the 14th. Interesting, I have moved around my ADRs a few times and have had NO problems getting what I want at the time I want. After reading several posts on the restaurant boards of people not being able to get ADRs for September's free dining, this makes me wonder if it may not be so crowded after all. We'll just go with a plan & have a great time no matter what!

Well I just got off the Disney website, checking full weeks for the two middle weeks of October, and Beach Club, Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk, AND Boardwalk Villas were all available for hotel rooms and studios for both weeks at the full price, so they aren't sold out for October yet. Even standard view was available at both Beach Club hotel and Boardwalk Inn. So who knows, maybe there could still be a discount.

That's good news, but FYI, the villas that Disney rents for cash come from a different inventory that DVC members use. Disney actually owns a few of the villas that they rent out too. Of course, we know how expensive they are. So because their site shows availability at the villas, it does not reflect what is available to rent on points to DVC members or their renters. Let's just hope for a discount, and hope they don't wait until the last minute to release one.

I think/hope we may see some discounts. I agree with others that the discounts at the EPCOT resorts may be more difficult with the F&W fest but we'll see. I also think that Disney may be holding back on releases to see if the August/September free dining is affected adversely by potential hurricanes. For those going in this timeframe I hope your vacations are NOT affected but I think a fair amount of folks moved plans into October last year when plans were turned upside down with weather. I think the other contributing factor may be our friends from the UK. I could be wrong and you folks can correct me but, there seemed to be an invasion going on last year in mid October into November which kept Disney's bookings up. We met many many people from the UK last year who were on extended Florida vacations (school break of some sort?). I am reasonably confident we will see SOME discounts but I think we are seeing the downturn of deep discounts (both general public and AP) in the October November timeframe, it has become more and more popular as others have mentioned.

Hope for discounts but don't bank on them.

Cheers,

Schuey

My husband talked to a CM a couple of days ago regarding our Oct reservation and he told him that the Epcot resorts and a lot of the other deluxe resorts are pretty full this October, but the mods and values have plenty of room available, so I bet those are the target resorts for the discounts for October.
