We just got our BCV points loaded and looking at a stay the 2nd week of our Christmas break. I'm booked in a 2bd (7 people potentially in the party) Jan 2-6. I waitlisted Dec 31 & Jan 1 separately at BCV for a 2bd lock-off.

I know that the 31st is literally the most difficult night and it that my chances would be marginally better if I were searching for a 1bd. My question is, Jan 1 is available at SSR in a 2bd right now. Would I be better off booking Jan 1 using our SSR contract and waitlisting the 31st at SSR as well? If so I would just cancel the BCV waitlist all together as I would be borrowing 2019 SSR points into our 2018 UY and they would end up stranded. Our contracts are Aug UY and our next vacation would be Aug 2019, so too late.

People who own SSR tend to book somewhere else so if the chance of an SSR waitlist coming through is pretty good.

If you are asking if SSR is more likely to have December 31 come through for you, then I say yes. Today is 7 months from Jan 1, so why can’t you use your BCV points?

I could but I’d still only get 1 day at SSR & still be missing the 31st. I see what you mean though. If both the 31st & 1st were available in a 2 bd at SSR I’d snag it with my BCV points & be done with it, but if nothing comes in for the 31st we’d be going from AS Sports (booked a backup cash room) to SSR to BCV. Ugh.
