What Are the Odds of Getting an OKW Grand Villa for Christmas 2006 at 7 Months?

I'm planning way ahead, as usual, and wondered what the odds are of getting a grand villa at OKW at the 7-month mark. This would be for nine nights over Christmas, 2006. Has anyone ever tried this?

I would have to say not very goood at all. I tried to book a GV one time calling on the first day of 11 month window, and had no luck. They are typcally booked day by day at the 11 month Window.

I would find an OKW owner willing to trade reservations with you. Someone who wants your BCVs over Food and Wine?

Agree with caribn7 and crisi. If you want a Grand Villa anytime in December, you need the 11 month booking window and it would be best to call day by day.

Lucky you are planning ahead - you have lots of time to figure out how to get the 11 month booking window. If no one wants to trade reservations with you, renting OKW points would also be an option.

I have to agree - it would be tough. Never booked a GV for this time period, but didn't have the easiest time booking for the time period we DID have it for, which was June. And OKW is my home resort! I would imagine Christmas would be really difficult. But I would certainly give it a try!

I rented points a couple of times before I bought. so I know how that works. I'm not familiar with "trading reservations," though.

Would I make a reservation at the BCV for another member and then have them make a reservation for me at OKW? Or, would I transfer my points to them and have them transfer their points to me? It sure is confusing. I wish BCV had grand villas. That would make things so much simpler.

I think it is easiest if you can find an OKW owner who wants to trade reservations with you. There have been reports of the point transfer thing getting quite confusing for MS. One of the perks of owning at a small resort and wanting to trade into a large resort, is that it might be easier to find a person willing to trade 11 month ressies. I guess I would put in a request for that and see if you get any bites. I would do it now though, so if the person who wants BCV wants to go sometime in the next 12 months, you can make that ressie for them. That way you will be all set in January to make your ressie too. I still think it needs to be a day-by-day ressie.

I think you'd have a better chance of seeing God do the hokey pokey then to get a GV for Christmastime (or any time in DEC.)

Seriously though, I have to agree with diane and the others....
