what are the odds of 3 studios at OKW in July??

I am planning a "girls only" trip to WDW for next summer (probably July, maybe June). We will have 12 people if everyone can go (so far I'm up to 7 definites). Our home resort is VWL. Since I will need to get 3 studios for Sunday - Friday (5 nights), I'm looking to save a few points. Especially with the new slide (we'll have 2 seven year olds), I think OKW would be a good choice for our group. Do you think that my odds of getting 3 studios for 5 nights at 7 months out would be pretty good at OKW? It seems like whenever I call for availability of a studio on short notice, OKW always has openings. I'm hoping that that is a good sign. Thanks for any previous experience info.

I sincerely doubt there will be a problem with you getting 3 studios at OKW. In all the years I have been a DVC member, I have yet to call for reservations when there WASN'T availablity at OKW. Of course just like Murphy's Law--I am never looking to book OKW! LOL!

I think your best chance for the space you need is OKW. They have the most rooms and best availability. But I would book early since July is a busy time of the year.

One little negative point. I don't think the slide will be done in July, so if I read your post right, that was a factor you were considering. The slide probably will not be ready until later in the year. Maybe I am wrong however.

Thanks for the encouragement! I may have not been clear in my original post on the date of our trip. This trip won't be until June/July of 2005, so I'm pretty confident that the slide will be done by then. We (me, DH, DS and DS's best friend) are doing the DCL western and then 9 days at VWL this July (woohoo only 4 more months!!). I knew that the logistics, best time, etc. would be challenging for 12 people, so I'm trying to do some leg work up front. Thanks again.

Call at the 11 month window and get 3 studios at your home resort that would be no problem. What I thought you were talking about was this summer 2004. By the way 12 people in 3 studios is really stuffing them in there, now that I think about it. OKW would be you best bet but you have to wait until 7 months and it is July, you never know. Have you thought about a two bedroom, that could give you some room and some center for all of you to go to say for breakfast at least. You then could also rent a studio to go with the 2 bedroom. I don't think WLV have grandvillas but it they do that would be your best bet. I have to say this I had 6 people total, 5 adults and a child and I rented a grand-villa, how 12 people are going to use 3 studios and be comfortable with their quarters is a wonder. At any rate with a two bedroom you also can use the living room sofa if you must for a bed, just a thought.
