What are the "must eats?"

We'll be heading to WDW next January-- and I am starting to compile my list of "must eats" for the trip.

A little background info... the trip will be for me, DH, DD (3 at the time). My parents will be there as well-- staying at Fort Wilderness campground (perfect built-in babysitters!)... so they will join us at times. And I am a FOODIE. I love restaurants, all types of cuisine... my favorite meal of late was at Per Se in NYC.

I need all sorts of suggestions-- at the parks, for family dinners, just DH & me meals...

THE Must-Eat for me every trip is the pot roast at 50's Prime Time. It is the most delicious food anywhere on the planet - I tried making it at home, and forget it - I didn't even come close.

For a foodie, with a built in babysitter, I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you Victoria & Albert's!!!

It's pricey, but it is SO good. Amazing, absolutely wonderful dinner. I can't tell you what the menu will be in January next year, because it changes on a daily basis.

Another good place for a foodie is Jiko - Amazingly prepared food and extraordinarily interesting flavors.

Mama Melrose, despite it's Italian name has a wonderful steak there, Steak Gorgonzola. Very nicely prepared steak, nice cut (both in April and October of 2007).

Spoodles was fairly good. I had Garlic Shrimp Linguine.

Le Cellier has a wonderful Fillet Mignon with Mushroom Risotto and white truffle. Very nice.

Wolfgang Puck Express, surprisingly good for a Counter Service in Downtown Disney.

Everywhere else we ate had fine food, but nothing that was special or something that I couldn't find at any other restaurant around town. Many places reminded me of Cafeteria food. Other places we ate at, but wouldn't say run to for the food:

Cap'n Jack's, Chef Mickey's (go there for the characters), Crystal Palace (go there for the characters), Liberty Tree Tavern (fine Thanksgiving dinner, but nothing out of the ordinary), Kona (Stay away from the Tonga Toast unless you have someone to share it with - they order an omelet and you order the toast, otherwise it's sugar overload), Les Chefs de France, and Boma (not bad, but not extremely amazing - better than most of the others listed down here), Narcoosee's wasn't bad for food. It was fine seafood, think Red Lobster with better atmosphere, Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Raglan Road! Delicious. I wish I was eating the goats town appetizer right now!!!

And don't forget a mickey bar!

My new favorite is Raglan Road...followed by Le Cellier and California Grill.

A friend of mine just ate at Blue Zoo and RAVED about it...we are trying there in June. If you love seafood, I heard this is the place to go!

For the romantic dinner out for just you and DH, I would suggest V&A, Bistro de Paris or JIKO.

For all of you, I would suggest Ca Grill or BOMA.

For something at the parks, I would suggest Coral Reef (big aquarium) or 50's PTC (good "down home" food and fun atmosphere).

You got a lot of great recommendations, many of my favs. I would add that you definitley need to have dinner at trails end at FW, They have the best ribs, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes...actually i love everything there. Great meal for you all to go to! enjoy your trip.

Ok, not really meals, but I MUST have my School Bread from the Norway bakery, and a Dole Whip from Aloha Isle in MK.

A must for us is Artist Point at the WL. My wife loves the Salmon on a cedar shingle and I must have the buffalo steak.

I second the dole whip! My sister stayed in her motor home in FW then stayed 1 night at Poly. She brought me one home a few weeks ago...inspiried me to book our next trip!

We also liked the Flametree in AK and the bakery on Main Street.
Off topic, but be sure to check out the Nestle cookie baking for your dd at the Land (I think) in EPCOT...a fun experience

Our family always goes to Chef Mickey's on the first night! It is just a great way to start of the vacation!

I agree! We Trail's End!! We prefer their breakfast buffet, but it's all good!
