Hi,
I was wondering what the lunch options were upon boarding.

Would you recommend lunch first before exploring the ship and signing the kids up for the clubs. I know my daugher is going ot be dying to go for a swim as well.

I booked the Romantic Escape, so we dont' have to do the reservation scramble. I was wondering what the best use of our time would be.

Thanks

We always hit Topsiders for the buffet lunch as we are starving by the time we get on board and then you have plenty of time to explore the ship.....we don't have any kids so I can't tell you whether to sign them up for the clubs first .... Andy

We ended up at Parrot Cay. I didn't enjoy any of my meals at Beach Blanket Buffet and thought Parrot Cay was a much better place to eat.

But your options are Topsiders/Beach Blanket Buffet, Parrot Cay. Pluto's and Pinocchios are also open (if not immediately when you board, a little later). The advantage to T/BBB is that its right by the pool - you can take your tray out and your daughter can hit the pool (which is also the advantage to burgers or pizza). The advantage to Parrot Cay is that pop is free, the buffet is a little easier to work and the atmosphere a little less hectic.

Parrot Cay does fill first - although it probably has seating a little later as well. So if you want to do other things first or board later, you may not have the option.

Keep in mind you can't get to your room until 1:30 - keep your daybags light and manuverable. Eating at a buffet is a pain in the back end if you are lugging a lot of luggage.

We signed up for the kids clubs after lunch. They don't fill and there is no rush. They don't open until 6:00, so you can sign them up anytime. There was quite a wait to sign them up when we did (about 1:15) -took us 20 minutes.

Since you don't need to participate in the ressie rush, I would check in at the kids club shortly after boarding. If there is not much of a wait, I would sign them up. It's not a long or hard process, but there are 500 kids to be registered and its best to get it out of the way before there is a long line (and wait).

I would then take your carryon luggage to your room and drop it off (you can't stay - they are not ready for you yet). Then go up to Topsiders/Beach Blanket and have lunch. If the kids are wearing their swim suits under their cloths they can go swimming while you are fininshing up your lunch.

Have fun!!

I totally agree with jrabbit! That's what we did. First to the clubs to register, Topsiders for a quick bite, dropped off carryon's and off to the pool until the 4pm drill.

That first day at the pool was actually one of my favorite days!
