What are the lime green ribbons about?

I asked the question inside another post, and it got lost (not answered. LOL!)

What are the lime green ribbons about? Does it have to be a specific ribbon, size, worn in a certain place? Do we approach other lime green people to say hi and introduce ourselves?

The lime green ribbons identify you as a member of the Disboards. It can even be a lime green piece of clothing. Doesn't have to be a certain size.

Yes, it is a way of identifying members of this board. Just to say hi, and see if it somebody you have been "talking to" all these years

We have ribbons hanging on our backback, and fanny packs.

We also have the green mickey ear paint samples from Home Depot (they carry disney paint) and clip them on our shirts.

The funny thing is I just picked up my lime green ears from Home Depot and I got the last one!! I don't know if it is coincidence or not but I think fellow DIS members have been there getting set for their trip! All of the other color samples were full!!

I will be on the lookout for lots of lime green when I am there!!

I picked up my ear Mickey ears from Home Depot this weekend and found the same situation. Very few Lime Green plenty of other colors.

Has anyone else noticed just how much lime green clothing is out there at the moment?? Everything is either lime green or day-glo orange!!! Wonder if we started something.

I just recently bought some new "vacation" clothes and didn't even realize I had bought 2 separate lime green items. Actually planned on wearing one on the plane - a jacket and capri pants. Bought it cuz I liked the color for this year - and now I realize I'll be recognized too

As a Home Depot employee I will be in the paint department tommrow getting my lime green ears for our trip in Aug. I will ask about them going fast..LOL

I was getting paint at HD for my kitchen and went over to the Disney paint dept. and looked for lime green mickey's and wouldn't 'cha know, all empty. But there sure were plenty of Blue, Red, etc. ha ha ha
I am gonna find something lime green to "expose" while touring the parks but certainly will NOT tell my 17yr son what it is for. ha ha ha He would say "put that away!" haaaaaaaaaa

Isn't it sad how much we embarrass our teenagers!
Just being on this planet is an embarrassment to him, but he
still will go along to Disney, as long as noone else is in the

My dd will only be 8 on our trip - so we don't embarass her quite yet.
I did pick up some green (I think they are lime! They had a few greens) mickey ears. DH thinks it is pretty funny. hee hee!

Just picked up two chips of "Atomic Green" at my local HD this evening -- I decided it was the most "limey" of the lime greens. On the backpack they go!!

I was checking my luggage last evening - to make sure I had enough luggage tags. Lo and behold - I discovered I had hard plastic LIME GREEN luggage tags. Go figure !!!!!!

3 years ago before our 1st Disney Magic Cruise, I was at the Disney store and they had lime green with blue poka dot tank tops. of course they also had Mickey on them. I bought one for me and my sister. This is my official going to Disney shirt!!! I used it in 2001, 2002, again on the Magic in 03, and so far this year at Disneyland in May. I have it all ready to pack for my short trip to WDW later this month.

On our most recnt rip to Dsiney (April) I had my eye open for lime green ribbons, clothing, Mickey's. I approached 3 people in total (One with a t-shirt and 2 with ribbons). None of them knew what I was talking about and looked at me like I was from another planet! I didnt see any of the Home Depot Mickey's but I dont think I approach anyone agin unless they have one of those!
My husband had a good laugh at me!
