Can someone please tell me from experience what the different spas are like? Is there an area in any of them where men and women can relax together (like a pool or something) other than the couples massage room? We went to a spa once in NC where there was a pool between the men's and women's locker rooms where we could relax between treatments...

I haven't been but the spa at the GF has an area like the one you described, and have a couple's special deal. I tried to talk my fiance into it, but he is a macho macho man, and he will not go. (That's okay--if he finds out what total bliss it is to get a massage and stuff he will want to go all the time, and it won't leave as much money in the budget for me. ;) )

Anywho, I am going to the Mandera Spa at the Dolphin. Or is it the Swan? I have heard the GF and other Disney resort spas are "no big deal". None of them are owned by Disney, BTW--it's a vendor thang.

If you book at the Disney Resort Spas, will you post about your experience?

You're going to the Mandera? I looked into that.... I think that might be the one we go to also!

About the macho man thing--my fiance is 6'7, 300# man and he is also a pretty macho guy... i convinced him to get a couples massage with me once and he LOVED it so much. He was nervous about a girl other than me giving him a massage :rotfl: but in the end he was so relaxed he was almost asleep! I think it'd be worth it to convince your guy to go :) We had such an awesome experience.... soooo relaxing and romantic. :lovestruc

My fiance and I will be going to The Mandara after we get married also, I heard that it is supposed to be well worth the money. He has never had a professional massage before, but I love them  I think he'll be hooked after!

We have tried the spas at both the Grand Floridian and at Saratoga Springs. Both are wonderful. Grand Floridian probably has a more luxurious setting, whereas Saratoga is more modern, and seems to have more treatment rooms. I believe they both offer a couples massage, where you can have a massage in the same rooms. You can check out the treatment lists with prices for both spas here: Spa Menus

I haven't tried out the Mandara yet, but I believe their Spas are supposed to be excellent too.

weve had massages at a few of the wdw resorts. i hosted a spa day for me, our moms & my girls at the grand floridian spa & then lunch at crt afterwards. the grand floridian is nice & relaxing. we had our treatments & then relaxed in the hot tub & sauna afterwards in the ladies section. but for couples i recommend mandara.

we had the couples treatment at the mandara spa at the swan & dolphin in march the day after our wedding, it was awesome! the spa is all bali/asian themed. we started in a private jacuzzi room with a big tub, candles, flowers & aromatherapy and relaxed. then we moved to the next room for our side by side hour massages. the whole experience was so romantic & relaxing i definetly recommend it.

heres a photo after our treatment in the main meditation room where we sipped water afterwards.
