What are the Current bus scooter loading ‘rules’?

I’d love to see more walking paths as well. Connect Riviera (and by extension CB and the other nearby hotels) to world showcase and Hollywood Studios. They aren’t for everyone but every person who opts to walk takes one person off other transit methods.
There was a sidewalk at one point. Here are some shots from Google Earth. In the first, you can see the crosswalk from the corner of Victory Way (where CBR is) and then the sidewalk on the north side of Buena Vista Drive. This sidewalk connected to the walkway from the BW to DHS. The next photo shows that the crosswalk is gone, and Disney began to allow the sidewalk to fall into disrepair. What remained of the sidewalk was removed completely when the Skyliner became operational (I assume to keep people from walking under the Skyliner itself, since there was no barrier there). If it had been well used, I am sure Disney would have found a way to relocate it or install a fence to separate the Skyliner path.

I always feel bad about discussions like this. Not all of us act like this or want to be in your way.

I am an ECV user. I am overweight, but that is not the reason I need an ECV. For good or ill, I have no choice if I want to go to the parks. I simply cannot do it on foot. I HATE having to use one, because of things like this. A few entitled people who think an ECV should get them a golden ticket means that those of us who must use them are often viewed in the same light, and often the brunt of someone's anger.

I try very hard not to get in people's way. I wait my turn and don't crowd people. Often I wait longer than I would have if I were on foot. Most people are nice about it, but when they are not I get one of 2 things. Either they treat me like I am invisible or they are annoyed I exist. People will step out directly in front of my moving ECV and get angry when I have to swerve or stop suddenly to avoid them. I cannot count the times I have staked out a spot to watch something only to have people crowd right in front of me so all I see is their rear. I get hateful comments said to me or within my hearing about my ECV. I heard "She doesn't look like she needs that". "they shouldn't let those things in the parks", Parent to their small child who asked about it "She's just fat and lazy. Nothing is wrong with her.", and directly to me "You need to be walking, not in my way".

Most ECV users don't want to be a bother, in your way, or cause you to wait longer. We just want to be able to enjoy the parks with our families. I am sorry for the issues they cause. There is no perfect solution that would eliminate all of them, but my hope is that everyone can be a little kinder to each other and have a bit more patience. I think that would go a long way.

I've got a trip coming up at Thanksgiving and just injured my second knee. In April and September, I was able to make it to the parks with one bad knee and then rent an ECV in the parks for triple the price each day. In fact, just a year ago, I walked all the parks all day for ten days with two healthy knees. How did I hurt my knee, you ask? This (at the time) short 69yo lady had to stand on the bus, bus lurched, and I came down hard on my leg. Hindsight says I should have filed an injury report at the time, but I brushed it off. My mistake. I dread the thought of having to use an ECV at the resort and I'm going to try my best not to for the very reason that comes through so clearly here, the hostility towards those that have to use an ECV.
Most people don't feel that way, just some jerks feel they need to express their disappointment that they are probably not first in line. Poor things. You know, the ECV's are the last to get off the buses, and yes, they have to wait. I don't get all this negativity towards ECV users.
I had to use one a couple of times due to injuries and I hated it. Not easy to navigate when other people cross in front of you or just plain stop in front of you. The only view you get from an ECV is someones bottom. Being an ECV user is not something that people Want to have to do. I am so glad that the parks make reasonable accommodations for ECV users to be able to enjoy the parks like everyone else. The person who expresses such deep hate should look inside themselves as to why they would do this.

True. But I'd rather they volunteer because honestly, some of the folks on that bus may have looked healthy but I don't know what they may be going through. My husband looked very healthy but was actually very ill. He could not stand on the bus because he had balance issues. And we had to endure people making comments about how he should give up his seat. He was much kinder than I would have been.
My husband has the same problem with balance. He can only walk with a cane, and he hates to do that in the parks. He looks healthy otherwise, but can tip over easily. We have been lucky that people do see his situation and give up their seats. We have never run into people who refuse to do so. He hates being like this. It's easy to judge others on how they look, I know, but we shouldn't just assume that someone is well enough to stand.
