What are the crowds like in early January, right after New Year's? We usually go in the summer or fall and I have never been there in the winter. We were thinking about possibly going then and I was just wondering how busy it is. Thanks.

We went 1/24-1/31 this year, great time with very little crowds. The worst part is the weather is sooooooo unpredictable. But....to me worth it for not having to deal with the crowds. NOW look....silly us going the week of Christmas.

January is my favorite time of year to go! Very little crowds, the parks close earlier, and the weather can be unpredictable, as previously mentioned. But it's still a great time to go!

If I had it my way, I'd always go in either January or the first week of February.

We were there the last week of January for the past two years and the lines were non-existant! Mind you in 2003 on January 24th there were snow flakes falling as we walked up Main Street! My DD4 froze her fingers on the carousel! We had a great time though, the sun was shining in the afternoon and the sky was crystal clear ~ definitely a great visit! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Crowds are light -- but they do a lot of rehabbing then. Once in January Country Bears was closed to take down the Christmas show and the Tom Sawyer Island lagoon was drained. That being said, I'll take little or no crowds over a few attractions being down any time. Unpredictable weather is true, as long as you don't have your heart set on swimming, have fun!

January is the only month we go. The crowd is basically non-existant. No need for Fast Pass. The parks close earlier, but you don't have to wait in lines for the rides/attractions. The longest we ever have to wait for anything is 10 minutes, and most of the time you can pretty much walk right up and get on. The weather may be chilly (t-shirts during the day, put on a sweatshirt at night) but we don't mind, we're from Michigan so it's pretty "balmy" to us anytime we're in Florida!! :teeth:

We were there during the exact same time! I don't remember seeing snow flakes falling, but I remember how cold we all were! I think they set a record low of 28 degrees back then, and they were worried about the orange crops freezing! We kept ducking inside the gift shops to get warm!
