What are the crowds like beginning of March?

Our first trip was labor day week, 2015. Very low wait times, it was great with the exception from the heat (I'm in SE TX so I'm use to it, still doesn't make it less miserable with young kids.) I'm trying to pick dates for next year....I want to avoid the heat and looking at going a week before our spring break. The dates would be March 4th-12th...knowing closer to the 12th crowds will pick up but hoping we can have light crowds earlier in the week? The reason why is because we want to stay longer, take our time with the long drive back, and avoid the kids missing more school than necessary. Would it just be better to stay a shorter amount of time the last week of Jan but feel rushed with returning?

I think those dates in March will be a great time to go. Last year we went Feb 26- Mar 8 and it was perfect!! Weather was great and crowds were fairly low.

This year we went Mar 9- Mar 21 and the crowds definitely picked up on Saturday March 12th and kept growing through the time we left. Most of Texas had spring break March 14-18 and I think most of Texas was at Disney World- almost everyone we met was from Texas or Canada.

Easter is also later next year so that will benefit you since many places have spring break the week before or week after Easter.

We were there Mar 1-10 this year - crowds were great at the start, and manageable the second week. Friends were there at the same time but left a couple days after us and said it was getting insane as it headed into the second weekend and spring break crowds descended.

Easter is later next year (Apr 16 vs Mar 27th this year) & that may help push some of the crowds a bit later.

Those are really good dates to go. We've been those same dates for the past three years, and have had great luck with crowds and weather. The crowds should be especially light towards the beginning of your trip, and the biggest crowds probably won't hit until the 11th. As PP said, you'll be leaving right when the majority of TX's spring break starts, which makes a huge difference. Honestly, I'd go that time every year if I could, but, sadly, our school district pushed our break back a week so we'd be in line with the bulk of TX schools.

Thanks for the responses, everyone! I think I just may stick with those dates. Our spring break is typically around the 14-18th, so we would stay longer if we wanted and take our time getting back...yet missing the spring break crowds.

We were there March 4th-9th this year and crowds were no issue for us.
We rope dropped each park. Crowds would pick up mid-day as you would expect, but nothing crazy. Weather was great! Thinking we'll go back around the same time next time we go.

This may be of help........
